Fable
New bits for the upcoming Fable have been showcased with a bit of gameplay in the mix for this Fable coming next year
Another year has flown on by and that means it is time to get a little more out there for the upcoming Fable title. A title that is still a little clouded in mystery, but Playground Games is aiming to offer up just a little more to the world out of the Xbox Games Showcase that went down again. The same showcase that gave us all a little more last year for Fable. This year, though, we get some story, some gameplay, and the fact we get to look towards 2025 to see the game finally land on the Xbox Series X|S and PC. There is some end in sight and that is the part we need to rejoice about here. Let us see what is here, though.
Humphrey, one of the greatest heroes from the past, has had to come back out of retirement to face off with another evil facing this world of Fable. This is not going to be our character, though. Humphrey is just showing the journey we had to go through to get to the point where our hero will be to save the world again. At least, that is how the framing of the CGI scenes here makes it feel for Fable. You can see our hero joining up with a younger version of Humphrey as he helps guide us through swinging a sword and facing off against other monsters in the lands. All in the basic ways we would think it would flow for a next-gen entry to this IP. Have a look now and see how it all lines up for you.
Fable — Xbox Games Showcase 2024
What does it mean to be a Hero? Humphry, once one of the greatest, will be forced out of retirement when a mysterious figure from his past threatens Albion’s very existence.
A new beginning to the legendary franchise arrives in 2025.
It is a bit sad, to me, that we do not get a whole lot of gameplay experience for this Fable here. After so long of it being just CGI and pre-rendered looks at it all, one would think it would be time to get something solid. Sure, that does mean we will most likely see something massive during The Game Awards this year, but I am still not sold on why I need to care about this Fable game. The long-time fans are probably already setting aside their funds for it, but those who just want to see something to bring them in, not so much. Maybe it is just me and losing faith that the big developer teams are going to do much that is not just to make money anymore…
Are you glad to have a little bit more for Fable here or do you need some substantial gameplay to pull you in? Will this story all be framed as a past event and being retold or is that just for the marketing of it all? When in 2025 do you think we will see the game launch out there and will it be early in the year? Head to the comment section to discuss it all and let the world know what is on your mind for it all. If we get more for Fable, we will certainly share it all here with you. Please keep on checking in for all of that and much, much more as we get closer to the end of the year here. that is most likely when we will get something else.
