Black Myth: Wukong Opens Up A Bit About The Collector’s Edition Of The Game

Black Myth

The pre-orders are now open for Black Myth: Wukong for those who want to secure more of the physical items that Black Myth will offer

With the recent Summer Game Fest, we had a chance to get a little more for Black Myth: Wukong, but the gameplay was not the big showing we had for the game. An odd choice to go with but with the game landing on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on August 20th, I guess it makes more sense that Game Science would want to hype-up the pre-orders for the game. Not the digital ones that many other developers have been doing, but the physical and limited editions for Black Myth: Wukong that are coming. Now is your chance to say you threw in further with this impressive-looking title well before it launched out into the world.

This announcement with Black Myth: Wukong does not come with any new gameplay but a fully CGI trailer to look at. Something to look at as the Deluxe Edition of the game and the Collector's Edition of the game flow out there for us all. Even if those versions might not be landing on August 20th currently. They will have some fun little extras, like a statue of the protagonist or the golden crown that is worn in the game. Cool little extras for the collectors out there and those who want to further immerse themselves in Black Myth: Wukong in the real world. Have a look and see if it is something you are going to want to head out and pre-order now.

Black Myth: Wukong — Summer Game Fest 2024

Embark on an epic journey with Black Myth: Wukong, a single-player action RPG developed by Game Science, inspired by the classic Journey To The West. The game will be globally released on August 20, 2024, and will be available on PS5, Steam, Epic Games Store, and WeGame.

The pre-order CG trailer premiered at the 2024 Summer Game Fest Opening Ceremony, and digital pre-orders are now live across multiple platforms. Details of the physical Deluxe Edition and Collector’s Edition have also been revealed.

Please note that the release dates for the physical Deluxe Edition and Collector’s Edition may differ from the digital pre-order start date. Stay tuned to our official announcements for more information.

Pre-order now to receive a special in-game reward, the Trailblazer’s Scarlet Gourd, upon the game’s launch.

While all of this is cool and fun little extras for Black Myth: Wukong, none of it feels like something that is truly needed at this point. It is a new IP, and while it looks amazing so far, it could be something that crashes and burns down the line. Thus, leaving us with little trinkets of things that we could have picked up elsewhere without the need of blindly paying for a game that we have no true understanding of. I may be a bit jaded as of late when it comes to these kinds of packages for video games, though. I have faith that Black Myth: Wukong is going to be a fun experience but not one that I can see myself tossing out extra money up-front before it has proven a thing.

Are you going to be tossing in for these versions of Black Myth: Wukong or will you wait to see if the game holds up to the hype first? Is it odd to hear that these versions also might not launch on the same day as the digital versions so pre-orders might not be the best idea? When do you think we might just start seeing the option to get 3D prints of the statues instead of the physical ones out there? Head down to the comment section to discuss all of this and let the world know your thoughts. We are going to keep on covering Black Myth: Wukong, so keep on checking back here for all of those updates and the many more we have yet to come.
