Kingdom Hearts Will Soon Be Heading Over To Steam To Bring More Of The Fun

Kingdom Hearts

A new version of Kingdom Hearts is on the way out there with a Steam version of Kingdom Hearts coming this June

If you were holding out to see Kingdom Hearts land on Steam so you can play it there or on the go with the Steam Deck, then your time in the sun is about to come. That is, it looks like Square Enix is finally bringing the whole IP, as of now, over to Steam. From the original Kingdom Hearts all the way up to the latest launch out there will be available on Steam this coming June 13th. Get ready to lose days of your life playing through the story one more time but in a way that many gamers have always wanted to play it all. That or just to introduce it to a wave of new gamers out there.

For those who are thinking of adding another version of the Kingdom Hearts line to a platform, you will be able to do that on a title basis or as a full collection of everything if you so choose. The big difference between any of the versions from those we have had already all boils down to getting a few more tweaks to the visuals of the original Kingdom Hearts titles and a platform-exclusive Keyblade to swing around in the game. Nothing overly enticing unless you are trying to just get the whole IP in one spot. Here is a bit more on this announcement and what is on the way to us all in just a few more weeks.

Kingdom Hearts — Steam Announcement

Square Enix announced that the beloved Kingdom Hearts series is coming to Steam on June 13, 2024. Steam users can join Sora, Donald Duck, and Goofy for the first time to play through two sensational Kingdom Hearts collections along with the critically acclaimed Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC), altogether delivering hundreds of hours of content across 10 magical experiences that make up the “Dark Seeker Saga.”

New to the Steam release of this title, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX will feature textural updates to its graphics. Users who purchase Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC) will also receive the new platform-exclusive Keyblade “Dead of Night.”

A full list of Kingdom Hearts titles coming to Steam is as follows:

  • Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX
    • Kingdom Hearts FINAL MIX
    • Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories
    • Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX
    • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD remastered cinematics)
    • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep FINAL MIX
    • Kingdom Hearts Re: coded (HD cutscene compilation)
  • Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue
    • Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD
    • Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover (movie)
    • Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage –
  • Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC)
  • Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece (includes all of the above compilations)

This really comes as no surprise that we would be seeing Kingdom Hearts land on Steam given the refocusing that the developer/publisher is looking to do with getting rid of platform-exclusive titles. I have a feeling that we are going to see many more from them land out there in this way very soon. This also means that we are going to start seeing all of those fun mods pop up out there to further shake things up for the games in fun ways. Especially when we think that fans of Kingdom Hearts will want to cram in even more of the Disney fun with other characters and looks. That is the part of this announcement that I am truly excited to see come to light out there.

Will you be getting this version of Kingdom Hearts or do you have enough copies of the game at home already? How long do you think it will be before we see the big mods coming out and adding in new areas of the world to explore? Does this all point that the next big entry into the IP could also be launching on this platform too or is that getting ahead of ourselves for now? Head into the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else we have to offer up to the world out there. We will share all that we can for Kingdom Hearts in any of its ways, so please keep on checking back in for those updates and the many more still to come.
