The Real Battle Is Coming Back With The Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection

Star Wars

More of the Star Wars fun is on the way back to us with the announcement for the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection

It is time to head back into the past again with a new and upgraded collection of games as we have the announcement for the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection on the way. Another of the massive collection of past games that Aspyr is bringing back to life on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. So, get your lightsabers ready or your blasters drawn first. March 14th will see many of us back out there and playing the various Star Wars: Battlefront titles one more time. If you have not put it down since it originally launched and have kept it updating this whole time already, that is.

As the title implies, this is going to be a collection of both Star Wars: Battlefront titles and all of the digital extras that came out for them since. Along with the core campaigns that take us through the various battles of the IP, we will also have that 64-player online play and split-screen co-op in the mix again. All on the newer hardware while keeping the visual quality of the 2004 version of the games. You can have a taste of what the game will look like and how it will function on all of those new systems out there just a little lower. Get ready for a blast from the past one more time.

As I see it, this has to be a release for the newer Star Wars fans out there and not the long-time ones. Given that there does not look to be much in the way of texture or model updates and the audio sounds as if it was pulled from the original films, this is more for those who did not get to experience it back when they all first dropped. That is fine, but it is worth taking note of. I remember hammering through all of the Star Wars: Battlefront content and it does hit some nostalgia but this new collection does not sing that it needs me to spend all the time with it. Maybe I will be wrong, but I do have the best hopes for those who may have missed out on it when it was the height of gaming 20 years ago.

Do you have fun memories of playing Star Wars: Battlefront that long ago or are you a gamer who was not even alive when it first dropped? Are you shocked that there have not been any visual upgrades for this or does it fall in line with the other collections they have dropped recently? Could we see a true sequel to this IP down the line or will we keep getting the same recycled things flowing on out there moving forward? Head into the comments to fight it all out and discuss it all. If we have more to share for the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection, we will do so on the site. Please keep on coming back here to see and hear about all of it as it does flow out there.
