The Thaumaturge Is Taking A Bit More Time To Finish The Blood Magic

Thaumaturge

A new delay for The Thaumaturge is out there as we will need to wait just a little longer to play The Thaumaturge

Well, it looks as if The Thaumaturge will not be hitting the PC on February 20th as we all thought. The game has now been hit with one more delay so Fool’s Theory can make sure we are going to be able to give the game the full attention that it deserves. That is part of the reason given after we were given word from 11 Bit Studios that we are going to have to wait longer for the game. The new release date for The Thaumaturge, on the PC, is now set for March 4th. Update those calendars and get your schedules sorted out a bit better now. Only two extra weeks and dodging a few of the bigger releases that will be dropping right around the time of it all.

So now that we know when we can expect to get back in with The Thaumaturge, let us dive into the why. The reason given for the delay is one that highlights the fact that there have been a lot of titles slated to release around the same time. The developers and publisher, obviously, want it to stand out there, so they chose to push it down a few weeks so it launched on its own. This also gives the team a chance to further fix any other lingering issues that The Thaumaturge might have. All while giving us a shorter gap between this release and that of the console versions of the game. I am always out for a better game if I need to wait longer, and only wish that was the reason given instead. You can read the full announcement below and then see what I think about the reasons just after that.

An important note from Fool’s Theory and 11 Bit Studios:

We’re happy to share that the game is now complete, and numerous reviewers already have it in their hands. At the same time, taking February’s busy launch period into account and the opening for a better release window, we’ve decided to take this opportunity to give The Thaumaturge more breathing room so it receives the attention we believe it deserves.

We want you to have enough time to enjoy the game in full, and we feel that the current release window is not the perfect moment for it. With that in mind, we are moving the launch date to March 4th, 2024.

The additional time we’re getting will be used to polish the game further so that your journey through the streets of 1905 Warsaw is even more enjoyable.

We truly can’t wait for you to play it, and thank you for your patience!

The Thaumaturge will be released on PC on March 4, 2024, followed by PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions at a later date.

The Thaumaturge — PC Release Date

So, I get that they would want The Thaumaturge to be out there on its own, but then still chose a day to release the game after titles like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will have only been out for a few days. Given the size of that title, I have a feeling that it will still be big news by March 4th. That is only one title that drops on that day and there are a few others. To me, this feels more like the team found some bigger bugs and needed a different excuse that gamers would be able to swallow with one more delay. That could just be me, but who knows? I am of the mind that The Thaumaturge should just be pushed until all the platforms would be able to experience the game at the same time instead of the staggered releases. Then more of the bugs and issues could be worked out and all of us could be happy on the same day.

How are you feeling about this new delay for The Thaumaturge and does it make sense to you? Will giving other massive titles a few more days in the limelight help this release or only further bury it in the mix of the days of gameplay some titles already are known to have? Why not just wait until all of the versions of the game are ready or do they just need the money this will bring in right now? Wander into the comment section below and then give us all of those thoughts and discussion. If we have another update for The Thaumaturge, we will share it here. With any luck, it will be the full release of the game and not another delay that I know we are all worried will be coming.
