Daymare
The Xbox release for Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle is now set so more gamers can experience what Daymare has to offer the world out there
The time is about to come when more of the gaming community can enjoy Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle out there with the physical release of the game on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The title that Invader Studios gave us all last year will now be coming to the platform on April 9th if you needed to have the physical version of it all or could not play the game on the PS4, PS5, or PC. While it always feels odd to have these kinds of split releases out there, it is a thing, and Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle had to go through it all here. We can just be glad to see that the wait is almost over and everyone can be on the inside for this title in not too much time.
Usually, these kinds of releases offer up something else along the way or will be dropping DLC in the mix to entice us all better to pick up the physical version of the game. For Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle, it does not look as if that will be the case and we will only be getting the physical game, and that be about it. All so the Xbox gamers can fully experience the fun and darkness that this prequel to Daymare: 1998 put out into the world. So, take note of that before you think you need to rush out and get the physical version while ignoring the option to go with any of the digital versions you can currently pick up as you are reading this. Unless you are a full-on Xbox player and then will need to wait until April 9th to head out and join H.A.D.E.S. in the fight out there.
Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle — Launch Trailer
GS2 Games announced that the retail version of Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle will be coming to the Xbox Series X and Xbox One on April 9th, 2024. Long-suffering Xbox players in desperate need of an early 2024 zombie fix will finally be able to experience one of the most innovative weapons ever put into an FPS - the Frostgrip.
Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle is a prequel to the critically acclaimed Daymare: 1998. It follows Dalila Reyes, a special agent in the Hexacore Advanced Division for Extraction and Search (H.A.D.E.S.) unit as she investigates a sprawling, sinister military research facility buried deep underground. Dalila’s goal is uncovering the truth behind the horrors in the labyrinthine facility, if she can survive long enough to complete her mission. Along with mind-bending environmental puzzles around every turn, she’ll face blood-curdling monstrosities with only death on their mind – and who aren’t willing to stay dead.
Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle was created by Invader Studios, an Italian independent software house based in the Roman countryside whose team is united by the passion for the survival horror genre. The game was co-written by renowned Italian movie director and writer, Fabio Guaglione, who wrote and directed the psychological survival movie, "Mine," (starring Armie Hammer), the Netflix hit, "My Name is Vendetta, and wrote the innovative horror-thriller, "Ride," the first horror movie filmed entirely in GoPro.
As stated in our review for Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle, it is a solid and fun game to experience out there even if it is your first run into the IP at all. It is a prequel after all. It is just so odd to see that we had to wait so long for the Xbox gamers out there to get a chance to jump in and with nothing more than the basic updates to help entice them further into giving it all a go. Granted, this is from a smaller team of developers out there and they, most likely, did not have much more planned for Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle in the way of DLC, but it is weird to try to push the physical version when so many can just play it all digitally as of right now. This all comes from someone who has the option to play on the various platforms out there, so I am aware of the privilege that does afford. This just feels like it could have all come at the same time instead of staggered for the release.
Have you had a chance to play Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle before now or do you need to wait until April to give it all a chance? Is it odd that there is nothing else for the physical version after all of this time or was it on the publisher's side of things that made it take so long and nothing else is being offered up? Will this help us get more in the IP or just help the developers keep the heat on during these cold winter nights? Tell us all of your thoughts on this down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish. If there is more for Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle, we will share it here. Please keep on checking in for those updates and many others that are still to come.
