Flipping Houses Gets Spooky In Haunted House Renovator

Haunted House

A new teaser for Haunted House Renovator dropped to give us all a slice of life when it comes to Haunted House flipping

It is time to tease us all a little more with another weird little title called Haunted House Renovator. Yeah, not the biggest of names you might be looking for but it is a game that Image Power is working on to give us a different level of escapism in our messed-up world. This time it is a home renovator that is specifically hitting up haunted houses to not only turn a profit but also to cleanse the world of some haunts. That or to tell some that we have cleansed them and hope that the dead stay dead or are happy with the new residents. All coming to the PC in the future and now we can start looking at what the game has coming.

As one would expect in a title like Haunted House Renovator, we are heading into these various houses with our own tools of the trade to remove the spirits within and then slapping up some new wallpaper so we can resell the house. Sometimes we will need to do some basic things to have the entity leave and other times it will be some massive rituals we will have to perform. There is a nice little option where we can be crooked and just hide the entity away and hope for the best. The good old slum lord way that would happen if Haunted House Renovator was set in the real world. A nice little touch so we can keep turning a profit at the misfortune of others. You can see how some of the basics will function as we use some powers in the game to fix it up while also trying to make sure something are laid to rest here.

Haunted House Renovator — Teaser

Haunted House Renovator sets you on a path of a ghost-hunting renovator. Your task - restore haunted houses to a usable state! Not an easy task, applying a new wallpaper won’t be enough to convince your customers that a house is safe. You also need to deal with whatever is haunting it.

Accept requests from haunted house owners around the world. Scout abandoned mansions and look for the signs of any paranormal activity. Make sure you’re ready for the job by preparing a set of tools to aid your work.

Chase away ghosts by any means possible. Sometimes your job will be as easy as scaring an entity with holy water and sometimes you will need to draw elaborate magic circles and perform dark rituals. And if nothing works, you can always look for an alternative way to solve your issue - like hiding a door to a haunted cellar behind some heavy furniture. Let’s hope that nobody ever tries to move it.

Looks are important, especially when you try to convince your customers that a house is safe. Change wallpapers, paint the walls, and replace furniture. Find a passion for interior decorations as you do what you can to keep a house from looking haunted - even if it is.

I do not know if the developers were going for some kind of commentary on the world with Haunted House Renovator, but it feels like they are to me. Sure, this looks like a nice little game that we can kill some hours with as we pull up tiles and move furniture around, but leaving in the fact that we can call a house "complete" while an angry spirit still inside seems to lean into how humans can be the real monsters out there. You know, by covering up the mistakes and pitfalls, while hoping the next sucker does not find it. If they do, that is their problem for moving into a former haunted house. I may be reading into all of this a bit more than intended, but that is what caught my eye for this title as it does seem to fit the way the world always is out there. Humans are truly the worst…

Would you move into a haunted house if you we told it was cleansed by the renovator or would you move on to the next one? Do you like how we are still using some kind of spiritual energy to clean this place or does our character just have superpowers too? Is this a slam at society and most are just not seeing it or have I become too jaded with the world to think the best for the species? Float on into the comments to discuss all of this and everything else we have to share on the site. I will keep an eye on Haunted House Renovator and offer what I can for the game along the development cycle. Please keep on coming back to see all of that and much, much more on the site.
