Little Nightmares
A new interview for Little Nightmares III is here to show off a few of the new features coming to Little Nightmares
There has been a little bit of gameplay out there for Little Nightmares III after a nice little announcement earlier in the year. All of which let us know the game was coming and a little bit of the direction that Supermassive Games was going to go with a few things. Now, though, we have further details for Little Nightmares III out there with one of the game's producers breaking down not only the gameplay we are getting, but the world, characters, and multiplayer of it all. Multiplayer that will offer up a lot more than just being able to play the game online with your PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, or PC.
While there is a lot to take in for the characters and story, most of that is what we have heard or seen for Little Nightmares III already. The bigger focus here is the multiplayer for those who are looking to play it all with a friend. It is something that can be done online with friends who have the same ecosystem as yourself. That being PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, or PC as separate options. Not unheard of but not the best of cross-play that everyone wants out there. Although, to make up for that, Little Nightmares III will offer the option to allow players to play with only one copy of the game purchased between the two. All to better offer those with friends who cannot justify buying a full game to be able to join in and test the waters. Especially if they have not played a title in the IP yet. Sure, this one is designed to be its own thing, but there is some hesitation to get into a game when it is listed as the third in the run.
Little Nightmares III — Producer Interview
Curiosity and danger often go hand in hand.
Little Nightmares III producer Coralie Feniello answers some of your most-requested questions in this new interview. Careful, though, as any experienced Visitor knows, answers can lead to more questions…
I am a little curious to find out why Little Nightmares III is not full cross-play between ecosystems though. Maybe it is due to the feature to allow for single purchase only, but it is not listed here. Given how many other games have gone true cross-play, it just seems like an odd choice, not to when you have the chance. There is still a whole lot in the game and worth picking up, so it is more of a minor issue than anything. We are getting a full new world, enemies, and characters to experience in the Little Nightmares line, so we can forgive things quite a bit here. Now if only we knew when in 2024 we would be able to hop on in and explore all of these little horrors out there. That, I feel, is going to be something we get a full announcement on in the coming weeks.
Will you be looking to play Little Nightmares III with a friend or will you be playing all by your lonesome too? Do you suspect that the single purchase option is the bigger reason for the limitations or could it be the major platforms fighting behind the scenes again? Do you have any more questions that this interview did not cover or would you rather just be surprised in the end? Head to the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else we have to offer up. We will have more for Little Nightmares III in the coming weeks, so please keep on checking back for all of those updates and many others as we head into the future.
