Banishers
A delay is set for Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden to make us all wait a bit longer to get to become one of the Banishers
Here we go with another delay out there and this one is for Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden. A title that many have been amped for and thought that DON’T NOD would have had out there during October. That was not the plan, even if Banishers was all about ghosts and hunting down other horror creatures out there. No, it was originally set for November 7th to try to miss all of the other massive releases that were going on in the month. If you have not caught on by now, this is also no longer the case as we have February 13th, 2024, now set for the game to hit the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. More or less for the same reason we have heard from many games as of late.
The reason for the delay for Banishers is that the market was already too saturated with titles during the initial release date and the teams wanted to make sure we all were able to give it the proper attention when it does launch. Not a terrible reason since there were some of the usual massive titles launching during the week before, during, and after. Titles that would normally have dwarfed the experience that Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden was trying to provide. Although it does feel as if the new release date window is also getting filled up with all of these titles now, so we will see how that all goes down when the next year starts to fly out there.
New Release Date For Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden: February 13, 2024
DON’T NOD, an independent video game publisher and development studio, and Focus Entertainment announce that Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden, originally scheduled for release on November 7, 2023, will now be released on February 13, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Oskar Guilbert, CEO of DON’T NOD, and John Bert, Managing Director of Focus Entertainment, jointly declare: “We have decided to postpone the release of this new franchise by three months, as the market is experiencing an intense release cycle for AAA titles on PC and consoles at the end of the year. We are convinced that a commercial release of Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden during a less saturated period will give it the attention it deserves.”
Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden — Gameplay Overview
For me, this new delay is also a nice reprieve to have for now as Banishers was one of those newer titles I wanted to give full attention to but knew I would have to split it between the many games of the month. I am still overly excited for this one and also hope that the team is able to make a better game with the extra time to iron out any and all bugs that might still be in there. That would make the most sense with the extra time allotted to the teams. Unless this is all to give the creators of Banishers a solid vacation as well before they will need to keep pushing out updates and patches to the game. Not because it is broken but because gamers will actively be breaking things much more than they ever could.
Did you expect to see Banishers get hit with a delay and do you think this will be the correct thing for them to do? Will this ensure that the game has next to no bugs when it launches or will the team just have an extra break during the time before they have to get back at it? Will February get overfilled with titles just as we see this year or will this be the last major title to get shifted to then? Head to the comment section to discuss all of this and everything else we have to offer up out there. I know we will have more for Banishers: Ghosts Of New Eden now, so please keep on coming back here to see and hear all of it.
