See How Hard It Can Be To Make A Massacre With The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

Texas

One more behind-the-scenes video is out there for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre so we can see how much care is going into this Texas horror game

There is a whole lot that goes into making video games and one of the ones that have been offering up some great behind-the-scenes for the game has been for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Just as we have seen from Gun Interactive with the various other titles that have out there, we have one more massive showing for it all. All so we can highlight more of the vision that Sumo Nottingham has had for taking us back into the horrors of Texas here. Not to mention to get us ready for the game's release on August 18th when it hits the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This one holds quite a bit more than we have ever seen out there.

You can see the full twenty minutes of behind-the-scenes footage just below for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, but most of it is the same stuff we have heard or know goes into these kinds of games. The more interesting part to pick up on is the fact that we get some extras on the two new killers to the IP just for the game. One is more of a deranged hippy type while the other is the seductive serial killer type. Both are vastly different for the family here, but still rather fitting. These are just backstories, though, so it feels like they will just have more of a gameplay balance role than anything that will change The Texas Chain Saw Massacre IP in any way. If you want to see any of that, feel free to dive in below. There is also a little more of the gameplay mixed in, but mostly this just shows that the developers have a deep love for the IP and are not just here to churn out something for the sake of doing it.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre — Making A Massacre [BTS]

Gun Interactive—the multimedia development firm behind the upcoming asymmetrical-horror adaptation of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre—is pleased to share a brand-new behind-the-scenes video detailing their creative process and the benefits and challenges that come with making a video game based on one of the most celebrated horror franchises of all time. Featuring interviews with eight different team members of both Gun Interactive and co-developer Sumo Nottingham, the video illustrates the guiding philosophies that informed the design and development of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, as key members from both teams share their personal ties to the series as well as their individual contributions to the game.

With insight on what it takes to work with such an important piece of film history, as well as the process of introducing new characters into an established narrative, this featurette is a glimpse into the world of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre itself. From digitally scanning every scratch on an authentic 70’s chainsaw, to digging through the journals of original screenwriter Kim Henkel to revive the drifter Sissy, this latest behind-the-scenes video has all kinds of details for fans to dig into as they await the game’s August 18th launch.

Is this the Texas you wanted to go back to in August or are you one of the newer fans that do not have a deep love for the original works? Will these two new killers work well in the grand scheme of things or will they just be good balancing acts to keep more of the killer players sated? Would you want to see a story mode mixed into the game here or will you be glad to just have the multiplayer gameplay that we have had in the works already? Take it all down to the comments to discuss those thoughts of yours. We will offer up all that we can for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, so please keep coming back here to see and hear all of it.
