The release date for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is ready for us with a tech test for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre coming soon

Gas up and get ready for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre to drop on us out there. Okay, that might be a little premature of a statement but that does not change the fact that Sumo Nottingham is wrapping up some of the work and we will get to experience all that the game has on August 18th. Yes, we have a release date for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC now. All the better to get us in the mindset and mode to survive or take on all of the horrors that the 3v4 asymmetrical-horror game will have out there. Not that we have not seen a whole lot of horrible things in the game as it comes to the violence and murder out there. It is a game based on a film that is loosely based on real-world events.

For those that cannot wait that long to get in on The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, there will be a technical test on May 25th for those that want to help with the crafting of this game. There has yet to be any word on how we will be able to join this test, or if it is not going to be open to the public, but it is on the way at some point along the way. Possibly along the way with some extra other announcements along the way too. Even though we are going to have to wait a bit for that, we do have a taste of what The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will be offering up to us. Have a look below and see some of the new kills and violence we will get to experience in the mix of the game no matter which side of the conflict we are going to be on.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre — Release Date

Gun Interactive — the multimedia development firm behind the upcoming asymmetrical-horror adaptation of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre — is pleased to announce that the game will launch on August 18th, 2023, in recognition of the infamous date upon which the events of the original 1974 film took place. As well, the official technical playtest for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is set to occur on May 25th, 2023, marking the first opportunity for fans to experience the terror and brutal intensity that first shocked audiences almost fifty years ago.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game takes place in the months leading up to the events of the original 1974 film, and features authentic recreations of the locations, characters, and imagery of the source material. Players control either the Victims or members of the Slaughter Family — including the infamous Leatherface — in a vicious game of 3v4 cat-and-mouse that takes the tension and suspense of the film and repurposes it into thrilling, competitive action. The Victims and the Slaughter Family must both utilize their unique abilities to come out on top, as the former uses stealth and smarts to escape their fearsome tormentors, while each member of the Slaughter Family wields brutal and murderous attacks to hunt their prey.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre features an entirely new soundtrack overseen by composer and lead sound designer Ross Tregenza that channels Wayne Bell’s trailblazing sound design for the 1974 film, as well as an additional album, Remains, featuring music written and performed by Jim Bonney and Gun CEO and President Wes Keltner.

Will you be ready to head down to this part of Texas in the coming months or will you be waiting a while until the full game drops? Do you like the level of violence we will get to watch in the game or will these kills be something you will be begging to be able to skip when they happen? Will the victims be able to do anything back to the family in the matches or will it always be about sneaking away out there? Take it all into the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish to. There is going to be a lot more for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre out there, so please keep checking back here for those updates and much more. I have a feeling it is going to get a lot bloodier along the way too.
