Star Wars
The next big Star Wars title is on its way to us soon with Star Wars Jedi: Survivor getting an early 2023 release date
The Game Awards last night did not disappoint, as now we have the official release date for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to mark on our calendars. Not only do we have the date on when the game is going to launch, but Respawn Entertainment also put together a nice bit of gameplay to show us why we need to join Cal Kestis on another journey out there. A journey that will be landing on March 17th of 2023, as that is the official date that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be hitting the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. That is still fairly early in the year to have all of these little goodies in our hands.
Now that we have the release date for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, we can take a look at the new gameplay we were given to get us all further excited for the game. New gameplay shows how Cal will evolve in this game and from the previous one as well. In both looks and abilities out there. That and he has a fully fixed lightsaber this time that he can use with all of the flourishes and spins Cal could want. Not to mention that some of the new force powers, like slowing down time, will allow Cal to use them in ways we have yet to see in a Star Wars title thus far. It looks as if this one is going to be the game we have all been waiting for this whole time and now we only have a few more months to wait for it.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor — Reveal
“As long as we fight, hope survives.”
Experience the next chapter of Cal Kestis’ journey in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor — launching on March 17, 2023.
Pre-order now to outfit Cal with the Obi-Wan Kenobi inspired “Jedi Survival” Cosmetic Pack.
Picking up five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Jedi: Survivor is a third-person, narrative-driven action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC.
Continue Cal’s Journey — No longer a Padawan, Cal has come into his own and grown into a powerful Jedi Knight. Carrying the memories and expectations of the Jedi Order with him, his crusade against the Empire has only become more perilous.
The Dark Times Are Closing In — With enemies new and familiar surrounding him, Cal will need to decide how far he’s willing to go to save those closest to him.
Go Beyond Your Training – The cinematic combat system returns with additional Force abilities and new lightsaber fighting styles. Creatively leverage all these skills to strategically take on an expanded host of enemies, sizing up strengths and weaknesses while cleverly utilizing your training to overcome your opponents and solve the mysteries that lay in your path.
Explore An Untamed Galaxy – Discover new planets and familiar frontiers in the Star Wars galaxy, each with unique biomes, challenges, and enemies. Master new skills, equipment, and abilities that will augment the ways you explore, fight, and roam. With larger areas to explore and more to discover off the beaten path, players who adventure beyond the horizon will find hidden rewards.
In addition to this showing for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and the release date announcement, gamers can now head out and pre-order the game as they so wish. This will grant them access to a new cosmetic pack to use in the game and also give them a chance to pick up the Collector's Edition of the game. An edition that is running at $299 USD for the game and a replica of Cal's lightsaber. Something that does not seem to be as great of a deal in my eyes, as you can just pre-order the base version of the game and buy a better version of the lightsaber currently… with the blade… and the option to make it look broken just as it was in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. It even comes with its own box too, even if it is not themed the same as the one for the game. But you can spend your money how you wish here.
Was it all but certain we would see this Star Wars title in March or did you think the "leaks" were false? How do you feel about the new abilities and uses of the lightsabers that we get to see here? Will you be buying this collector's edition or will you just go with the Disney option and pre-order the base game for the cheaper and better option? Give us all of that feedback down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish to do. When we have more to offer up for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, we will have it all here. Please keep checking back in for all of that and everything else we can offer up until the launch of the game.
