Resident Evil Will Have A Whole Lot More Horror For Us All Soon

Resident Evil

The Resident Evil franchise is giving us a whole lot more for the game with Resident Evil 4 getting a release date

It sure is a week for all of the horror titles to start flooding out there and Resident Evil did not want to lose out on the fun. Even if only a few things that we announced will be out there in time for the Halloween season this year. Nonetheless, Capcom took to a virtual stage and offered up a look at some of the upcoming DLC for RE8 on October 28th, the full release of the multiplayer Re:Verse, and some new footage for Resident Evil 4 in the mix too. Not to mention that we will be able to see the last one hitting our PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on March 23rd of 2023.

With each of these little announcements, that does mean we have something extra to look at for each and this one starts off with Resident Evil Village. More specifically, the Winters' Expansion that will be dropping out there next week. There is a bit more of the story as to what Rose is doing in the mix and heading out to go find what happened to her father. Not to mention more of the supernatural elements seem to be mixed in here. It could all be a way that Resident Evil is trying to change up the formula once more, but we will have to wait until then to know for sure. Even if it feels like it will be a little off now that we can go back in with a third-person mode.

Resident Evil Village — Gold Edition Story

Resident Evil Gold Edition launches on October 28th, 2022, and includes the base game with 3 major new features:

  • Third-Person Mode allows you to play the main story mode from a new perspective.
  • The Mercenaries Additional Orders introduces new playable characters and stages.
  • Shadows of Rose continues the story of Ethan’s daughter, Rosemary.

Speaking of third-person, we get to move on to what you are more likely to be here for with Resident Evil 4 remake giving us a whole lot of new gameplay to look at. Most of which seems to be hitting the highlights of the original, which is good to keep us all on our toes when new twists come out for it. Even if some of it does look and feel like it was made on a last-gen system over getting a full next-gen upgrade. Resident Evil 4 is coming to the PS4, so this could just be us seeing the lower end of things so our minds will be blown when we see the true craft that the teams have put in for the full remake. One can hope for that as of now, right?

Resident Evil 4 — Remake 2nd Trailer

Survival is just the beginning.

Survival horror reimagined for 2023.

Lastly in the mix, here we go with the full release for Resident Evil Re:Verse out there. The survival battle title that I have not heard a single fan ask for. To be fair, other titles like this from the past have been rather fun while short-lived, but it feels a bit off to give us another battle royale kind of game just with some of the Resident Evil style on top of it. I thought there already was a multiplayer mode that fans all loved. Given that it is a free thing for any that picked up Village, we cannot complain too much. Outside of taking the time to download and give it all a bit of our time. That is when you can go off on it if you truly did not like it.

Resident Evil Re:Verse — Launch Trailer

Available for free to owners of Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil RE:Verse is a survival revenge battle game in which two-to-six players fight to the death.

Familiar characters and terrifying creatures from the Resident Evil series clash in high-stakes battles where death is not the end.

While those are the main highlights for the Resident Evil Showcase we had, you can have a look at the full version of it just a bit lower. It does give a little more of a background on each part of the IP above and a look at what the collector's edition for Resident Evil 4 will give us all. If we so choose to shell out the extra money for a statue of one of the fan-favorite characters in the IP. That will most likely be the bigger selling point for everyone out there as of now. Have a look and get ready to spend another thirty minutes with the IP and maybe some extra frights.

Join us for never before seen gameplay and a new trailer from Resident Evil 4, a look at the Winters’ Expansion, and much more.

Was that all of the Resident Evil news you needed here or were you looking to get something else out of this showcase? Do you think we were seeing the lower-end version of RE4 here or is it still too early to know how the final build will look? Will you be playing Re:Verse out there as you wait for the other DLC or will it be something most fans skip out there? Tell us all what you are thinking down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all if you so wish to. There will always be more for Resident Evil and we will try to share all that we can for it. Please keep checking back in for all of that and everything else that we have coming our way.
