I said it a long while back that this year was going to be the year of Resident Evil. Not that it would dominate the market and be game of the year. But that there was going to be a cornucopia of Resident Evil titles out for consoles this year. Although it would seem that more of them will be on the Wii over the other consoles out there. Count is 1 to 1 to 2 now. XBox, PlayStation and Wii respectfully.

Just let loose is news of the original Resident Evil being ported over to the Wii from the remake on the Game Cube back in 2002. Nothing is going to be changed from that version except for the controls. Much like what happened with Resident Evil 4. It will have all the endings and extra rooms that the GameCube version had, just on a platform more current. I knew I should have waited to get them all on the Wii instead.

This version of the classic will be out sometime this June according to Capcom. So for those that missed out the first go around way back on the PlayStation and then again on the GameCube, you will get yet another chance to give it a whirl.

One more thing before I let you go to the screen shots for the game, it is my thought that they are working to redo all of the Resident Evil titles for the Wii. At least the ones that will fit on a DvD. On Capcom's site, all of this information was actually titled under Resident Evil 3. Could be a typo, or it could be something else. But the fact that the box art is left so generic that you could easily swap out the other titles, also shines a little in that direction. We'll just have to wait and see.
