Assassin’s Creed
Netflix will be bringing us more Assassin’s Creed with a new live-action Assassin’s Creed show and a few animated ones
It looks like we will be bursting at the seams for new Assassin’s Creed content, as it looks like we will be seeing a series on Netflix sometime in the future. Not just one series but multiple that range from a live-action show to an animated show to the new anime-style shows that the streaming service has been putting out there. The number of different shows and seasons for these Assassin’s Creed series is not totally confirmed, but it looks like the latest film will not be the last time that Ubisoft tries to get the IP outside of the video game realm. Much like many other IPs out there have tried and done with varied success.
Sadly, that is all that is known at this time for this new Assassin’s Creed series or multiple series out there. Given the fact that they are still looking for everything but executive producers for any of this, it will be a bit of a way down the line before we see anything in motion. It does help beg the question of if they will be used to expand any of the number of Assassin’s Creed stories so far or if they will all be truly original to build to the meta-narrative more than anything. Maybe this will also be where we finally see the IP go down the path of all of those points in history many gamers have been asking for. Something that could potentially lead to us getting it in game form too. We will have to wait and see.

Assassin’s Creed is coming to streaming devices and no, we’re not talking about xCloud or Luna. A brand-new, live-action Assassin’s Creed series is coming to Netflix. The deal includes multiple different series, the first of which will be a genre-bending live-action epic, while the others will be animated and anime adaptations. The live action series is currently searching for a showrunner. Ubisoft Film & Television’s Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will serve as executive producers.
“For more than 10 years, millions of fans around the world have helped shape the Assassin’s Creed brand into an iconic franchise,” said Jason Altman, Head of Ubisoft Film & Television - Los Angeles. “We’re thrilled to create an Assassin’s Creed series with Netflix, and we look forward to developing the next saga in the Assassin’s Creed universe.”
Were you truly clamoring for a new Assassin’s Creed Netflix series or will this be a nice surprise as we saw with shows like The Witcher? Do you expect better than the most recent film we had out there or is that your concern when you hear that we might be getting more of just that? Would you want a truly new story to follow here or would you rather see it build on stories we have seen and want more of? Let us have all of those thoughts and feelings down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you wish. If there is more for Assassin’s Creed in any form, we will share it here on the site. Be sure to keep checking back for all of that and more.
