Ancestors
The final video for Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey’s 101 series is here to give us a look at how we will evolve the character in Ancestors
It is time to wrap up the 101 series for Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey here as the latest video is out there now and ready to explain to us just how the evolution will work in the game. While this is all an odyssey for us all to go through and explore, Panache Digital Games needs to add in actual gameplay mechanics to make sure we have more to do in general. That is why we are back with more of the progression system in Ancestors that will unlock as we progress as well as how it will carry on as the in-game years go on. Just in case you had any worry before August 27th before it hits PC. It is still slated to hit the PS4 and Xbox One at a later date for those worried.
It was a little expected, but as you will see here in Ancestors, we will need to do specific actions in the game to unlock new neural paths that will unlock new skills. These will be there for us to use as we need, but can be locked in to be passed down the bloodline as time progresses. It sounds like there will be an option to jump from baby, to adult, to elder in the game in some way. Doing so will lock in the evolutionary changes so we can try to use Ancestors to further prove science. Also, to try to beat it in the progression to see if we really needed all that time to progress as we have set down. It is a truly interesting thing to behold here.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey — 101 Trailer EP3: Evolve
Write your own story through human evolution as your clan embarks on an epic journey from prey to predator. Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is coming to PC on August 27 and PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in December 2019.
EVOLVE is the final video of our three-part 101 series where Creative Director Patrice Désilets describes the RPG mechanics that bring evolution to life in Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey. Curiosity and experimentation are key as players will forge their own unique paths through evolution based on their decisions. As your clan evolves, see how each choice will determine if you can survive like our ancestors before us.
What do you think about this system we will have in Ancestors and does it play as you would have expected for an RPG? Do you think we will only get to jump in time a few times or will it be something we can keep doing to make sure our changes get locked in much longer? Do you think there will be a way to become a pure carnivore in the game or will we always need to follow the real-world evolutions? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. When we have more for Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, it will be shared here. Be sure to keep checking in here for all of that and much more.
