Resident Evil
A new look at Resident Evil happened at SDCC this year, along with a fun Resident Evil fan scavenger hunt in Raccoon City
We knew that there would be a panel out there for the upcoming Resident Evil movie during SDCC 2026, and the team did not let us all down. With the film hitting theaters on September 18th, and the ride that Zach Cregger has been on with films, this one needed to show the fans just what they were going to be getting into. Gods, does it all deliver and look to be one of the scariest Resident Evil films to date. Not just with the latest trailer for the film, but also some of the behind-the-scenes conversations we had with the director during the panel, and then the fun little off-site event that had fans running around a small section of Raccoon City trying to find all of the resources to survive. Let us all have a look at what went down out there.
You can see the new trailer below, but there was an exclusive bit of footage shown to the crowds out at SDCC this year for Resident Evil as well. A scene that takes place early in the film and sets up some of the harsher action you can see in the following clip. Much like the previous films from the director, the scene leans into the humor a little, but in a perfect way that leads to a solid fright when the action starts. We will not spoil any of that here, as that was for those who made it out to see what Zach had brought for Resident Evil out at the con. Just know that it looks as if he has taken everything that he has learned from his past films and elevated it even further. All to make sure we are getting the feeling we had from playing the games, while not just trying to retell stories we have already played.

As I mentioned before, Resident Evil also had a fun little fan experience to play through out at SDCC for those who made the trek out. A scavenger hunt of sorts, but in a film setting of the snow-covered Raccoon City. There was a load of photo ops, things from the film, and various other elements to build the hype up for the movie. All while fans were running around collecting QR codes to turn in for fun little prizes if they were able to get enough health, ammo, or communication devices in the mix. Those who might not have been able to make it out to see all of this for Resident Evil, you lucked out, as we have a fun walkthrough of the whole area. The audio is a little distorted due to music playing nearby, but you can have a little look at the world we got to step into just a little further down.
Resident Evil — SDCC Fan Experience
Were you lucky enough to make it out to see all of this for Resident Evil, or did you need to live secondhand through us for it? Do you like the direction that the film is going, or are you one of the neckbeards who need to see the same story played out again in a live-action form? Are you getting any specific game from the IP as the vibe of the film, or do you think that it is blending many of the themes from the games into one solid place? Let us discuss it all in the comment section down the page here. We are still looking forward to seeing what the new Resident Evil movie will bring to the world, and we will have all that we can to cover it. Please keep watching the website and all of our social channels out there to see who it is all going to come to light in this darkness.
