PlayStation Is Taking A Swipe At SDCC With A Few Upcoming Titles

PlayStation

A trio of PlayStation titles will be on display, with two of the upcoming PlayStation titles having a few extras to go around

Even though there are many still out there who are not happy with PlayStation at the moment, we feel the same around here. It looks as if they will be out at SDCC this year to push some of the titles that should still have a physical release tied to them. Well, maybe not God Of War Laufey, depending on when that will hit the PS5. This is a topic for another day. That will be one of the big titles on display out at SDCC 2026, though, with two more coming and having playable experiences as well. All of which will have panels for those who want to go through the hassle of getting in. Oh, those other titles would happen to be Marvel’s Wolverine and MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Both have gameplay that we can experience before their upcoming releases.

For those who are out at SDCC for more than just hearing PlayStation, the developers, and the talent behind your anticipated games, or those who just like experiencing all the things outside of the convention, you will certainly have that. There will be a few photo ops around the Gaslamp area with Doctor Doom and Storm from Fighting Souls on display, and Proto-Sentinel Head from Marvel’s Wolverine. If that was not enough, you can swing by the Marvel Booth (#2329) to try and play Marvel’s Wolverine and pick up some claws as a fun takeaway. The Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina will have a playable version of MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls as well. On top of all of that, PlayStation will have a Slushie for the Wolverine game available out on the Omni Hotel Lawn to try to get back in the gamer's good graces. Time will tell if that will work.

Around the convention corner

From July 23-26 on the San Diego Convention Center show floor, fans will have a chance to sink their claws into the Marvel Booth (Booth #2329), where players can drop in for a Marvel’s Wolverine photo opp and walk away with giveaway items like Marvel’s Wolverine Claws and a copy of the Marvel’s Wolverine Prequel Comic written by Narrative Director Walt Williams while supplies last.

While traveling around the convention center and downtown area, be on the lookout for the Marvel’s Wolverine wrapped San Diego Trolley. Players can head to the Omni Hotel Lawn to cool down with a Madripoor Sunrise Slushie and take a photo alongside a looming Proto-Sentinel Head, before grabbing Marvel’s Wolverine Claws.

Fighting game fans can head to the San Diego Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina for a chance to play MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, and take pictures with Doctor Doom and Storm statues.

Are you still upset with PlayStation that you will be skipping all of this, or will you make sure you are taking all of the things they are spending their money on as penance? Will they make the announcement that God Of War Laufey will actually have a physical release out there, or will they aim to dodge all of those questions? How long will you wait in line to have a chance to play any of these games, and will it be worth the wait instead of just until the upcoming releases? Let us have all of those thoughts and more down in the comment section of the page. We will be out there at SDCC covering all of the things that PlayStation will offer up, so watch the website for all of those updates. Follow along on all of our social channels as well, so you can see all of the updates in real-time.
