Wolverine
A new and extended bit of gameplay for Marvel’s Wolverine is here, and it is giving us the Wolverine we have all wanted
We knew it was coming, and gods did Insomniac Games deliver on the promise to show us all more for Marvel’s Wolverine. Given that the game is still slated for release on September 15th for the PS5, it makes sense that they would push it all at this point and give us seven minutes of fun gameplay to look at. It is not raw gameplay, but it is something for us to stick our claws into and see how Wolverine is coming to life in this game. Not just him, but even more characters that we have had teased already, and many others that we did not know were coming in with this game. So, let us kick back and have a look at just what is on the way for the game as we count down the next few months until we can load it up and be the hero that most humans do not want.
So, for starters, yes, Marvel’s Wolverine is set in the same universe as the Spider-Man games, but we should not plan on seeing them crossover at all. Along with that, we do get a look at many of the Morlocks designed around the animated show versions of the characters, along with Jean Grey helping out. Thankfully, this is not their show, and they will only be out there to help as we make our way through the story. That means, do not expect any missions where we are not playing as Wolverine in the mix. That would be a much larger story if we did, and we already have so much brawling and slicing going on out there. Something that we have the option to turn off in the full game if we so want. A weird thing to add in, especially as you watch all of the blood fade away from the character, just as the dead enemies and the wounds that we might be taking on along the way.
Speaking of, in the mix of all of the melee fighting, we do get to see how the healing and other factors that make Wolverine a fun character play in the gameplay here. It does look as if he might be able to be brought down by enemies, but with some QTE motions, that is when the full healing will kick in and bring him back to full health. I have to assume, for gameplay reasons, this is tied to something that looks like a Rage meter. Something that also seems to allow for Wolverine to have some of the fun team-up attacks and the Berserker Rage section that we see here. All great things, when we see that Sabretooth and Omega Red will be part of the antagonist squad, along with all of the terrible things that Trask normally has out there. It does look like there could be the chance of a Deadpool, but I have a feeling that is more of a Hand member before meeting the violent end, more than any kind of tease that fans will always want.

Are you fully amped up after seeing the gameplay that we have for Marvel’s Wolverine, and do you hope we will get some kind of demo before the game launches? Is it weird that this title does not have a Collector's Edition in the works, and we only have options that will give us in-game boosts and cosmetics if we want to pay for them? What other characters from the roster do you think we will at least see in the game, and how deep into the lore will they go for some of the past enemies that we know he has faced off with before? Take all of those thoughts and answers down into the comment section to hash it all out there. We know there is more to come for Marvel’s Wolverine, so keep your senses clear to see when it is live on the website.
