T.W.I.R.L.
The release window for T.W.I.R.L. is offered up, with another look at what T.W.I.R.L. will be bringing into our homes
After all of the massive horror titles we've seen out there, it's time to take it back to a bit more of the indie with T.W.I.R.L. A new horror game from Genie Boy Games that will take us all into the existential nightmares of being a nine-year-old boy. Not something that anyone would normally go to, but it's always fun to get a little retro and see what other stories can be offered into the PC world. Not just as we are playing as such a defenseless character in T.W.I.R.L., but that we are going to be tasked with handling some darker themes along the way. The fact that we shouldn't look at ourselves in the mirror in the game might offer up a little idea on where the themes of the game might be going. We'll know for certain this Summer when the game launches, but we can have a slight taste with the latest gameplay out there.
In terms of what to expect n T.W.I.R.L., beyond the basics above, it looks as if this will be a nice and short experience similar to P.T.in the past. The game is also set in 2006 and has the "retro" look about it as well. We're going to be tasked to wander about the house we wake within to come face-to-face with the various fears our 9-year-old has within. All while navigating around the various entities in the area and making sure not to look at ourselves in the mirror. This, to me, reads that we might be dealing with some self-esteem issues and maybe some body dysmorphia. This is a smaller title, and they could get away with such themes in T.W.I.R.L. if they wanted. They might also just have a fun little setting and a solid reason why we can't just fight back against the monsters. Have a look and see what your take on the game will be, and see if it will be one that you will want to experience later in the year.

What are your thoughts on T.W.I.R.L. as it has all been shown so far? Will it be a fun little diversion from the bigger horror out there, or will it be too short for many to want to engage with? Why do you think we won't want to look in the mirror as we play through the game? What do you think the title of the game truly means with all of the teasing? Let's hear it all out in the comment section further down there. T.W.I.R.L. does seem to have some fun things going for it, and I'll keep my eyes open for more to share. Maybe it will hold a mirror up to the world for a little bit. We'll have to wait and see, so please keep an eye on the site and all of our socials to see when all of that goes live for you. There's even talk of having a bit of a demo for the game out there, so that'll be fun when it happens.
