Borderlands
A new look at Borderlands 4 is finally here and it looks like a lot of the old Borderlands fun with a lot of new things to enjoy
We had a fun teaser to let us all know that Borderlands 4 was on the way a little while back, and what a way to end out the year with us getting our first good look at the game. Gearbox and 2K still have a lot more work to go into it all before it can hit the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC but it does look like things have progressed quite a bit in the mix of things. Not only in the visuals department, even if it feels like there is a deviation from the traditional Borderlands feel, but also in some of the gameplay too. All so we can head to a new planet and fight our way through a whole new story that feels like it might only be linked via all of the guns and all of the vaults we are going to need to hunt down. Even if that might not be the bigger story we are playing out in this title…
Many might have been wondering where we are going to be going in a new Borderlands story, and this one shows how we will be heading off to Kairos. A new planet filled with many of the same dangers we have experienced out there in the universe before. We will be out there as one of four vault hunters who are working to get into the secrets that the planet has. Along with all of the other villains, creatures, and machines that Borderlands has to offer up. All of them are also running this planet in the mix of a class war and keeping the less fortunate underfoot. That will be part of our secondary story in the game as we will be joining up with the resistance to fight back against the powers on high and try to bring a bit of peace to this new world. Of course, with a whole lot of guns, ammo, and special abilities we are going to be highly focused on killing everyone else that is not part of our team. Have a look at the latest we have for the game now.

I do have to say that one thing that caught my eye for Borderlands 4 is that the gameplay and visuals of the game do feel a bit off for the IP. Almost as if they are leaning into the higher-end and more realistic while downplaying the cell shading that put the game on the map. It is still in there, sure, but it feels like a stark contrast when even looking at the most recent Borderlands title that we had out there. It is not bad, but I am just worried that it might detract from some of the charm the original games had in favor of trying to push something new. Then again, as long as we get a bajillion guns and the dumb toilet humor, most fans will be able to overlook a lot of that and just try to enjoy the ride. Just as long as the villains of the game are not lackluster or heavy-handed in a way that distracts. That was my issue with the most recent title we had out there.
Do you have the same concerns as I do for this Borderlands title or will that all be brushed away rather quickly once we get some true and solid gameplay to look at? Will there be an explanation as to why some of the beasts from other planets are on the new one or will we just have to brush it away as it is part of what makes the fun in these games? How long are we going to have to wait to get the full villain reveal out there or could we see a game that has multiple villains that we will have to overcome along the way and not just one "big bad?" Fire off all of those thoughts and comments down below and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish to do. When we have more to look at and enjoy for Borderlands 4, we will add it all to the site for you. Please keep on coming back right here to enjoy it all with us and keep as up-to-date as possible out there. We are all super excited around the office for all of that.
