Intergalactic
It is time to go Intergalactic with the next big IP getting announced in the form of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet
So many rumors of what Naughty Dog were working on next had been circulating and now we have that answer with Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. We can put all of those other sequel rumors to rest for their other IPs and see that they are giving us a whole new one and universe on the PS5 when the game is ready for our consumption. It looks like the only rumors that were out there that we do not have to put to rest is that it was going to be a true Sci-Fi title at least. That is what the name Intergalactic easily implies and with the full reveal trailer we have to look at, we can see that the team is leaning hard into that. The game has been in the works for almost five years at this point, so there is no turning back now. Let us see what new world is going to fill us up with all of the emotions and meet new characters to fall in love with along their journey.
In Intergalactic, we are picking up with Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter who ends up stranded on Sempiria. As it turns out, this planet that Jordan has ended up on has not had anyone make it out in over 600 years and we are going to have to put some of those bounty hunter skills to use to see if we can change that. Especially as the planet looks as if it was destroyed by machines so long ago and are out to make sure no other humans make it off the planet. That is the assumption that we have from the bit of story we have for Intergalactic and the in-engine visuals we have to fawn over just a little lower down the page here. If I had to guess, though, this might also be a destroyed Earth of sorts and the times have not been able to keep all of the details of that up to speed. The setting does look like a future that has not advanced too far beyond having some form of space travel. Everything is still very analog and CDs seem to be the "hip" thing to play now…
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet — Announcement
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is the newest franchise in development for the PlayStation 5 console from Naughty Dog, the studio behind acclaimed series like The Last Of Us and Uncharted. Set thousands of years in the future, Intergalactic puts players into the role of Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter who ends up stranded on Sempiria – a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark hundreds of years ago. Jordan will have to use all her skills and wits if she hopes to be the first person in over 600 years to leave its orbit.
Are you upset that Intergalactic is on the way and not another sequel to an IP you have put so many hours into? Do you think that the Sci-Fi setting the team is going with will blow us all away as their past titles have or will it feel too close to other IPs out there? Will this be another massive character journey title or will some of that get left behind as it does look like Jordan will be alone on the planet to survive? Jump on down to the comment section and give us all of those thoughts and the exciting discussion it is all going to lead to. This is just the start for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, so be sure to keep on checking back in here for all of the other updates that we know are on the way out there. This is all a very exciting adventure we are going to see as Naughty Dog puts some of their other stories to true rest or allows for the adaptations to carry it all forward.
