Histera
An early access is on the way for Histera and in a few weeks many will be able to see just what Histera will offer up
Get ready to battle throughout some of the ages out there as Histera is heading to an Early Access state here very soon. How soon? Well, it looks like StickyLock Studios is aiming to give all of that to PC gamers on the 16th of May here. All so we can dive in and see what Histera is all about while also helping to shape it into a game that we all want to keep playing after it lands in a full release. Whenever that might be as we all know how some of these Early Access titles can go. It might be a few months. It might be a year. It might be forever so others do not have to worry about putting out a finished product. Thankfully, for this one, there is a plan to get to a full release but that announcement will come at a later time, it would seem.
Histera is another arena shooter where we will be hopping all over time to different eras to take on all of these fights. Sometimes we will be in a futuristic city, other times in prehistoric locations, and maybe even a bit in WWII. All glitching between each adds all manner of chaos to the game. Something that could shut you down rather quickly or help you turn the tides in an instant. When the map is shifting in Histera it would make it hard to be able to consistently get the drop on other players from memory. A nice extra strategy that this one will be giving for us to experience. If anything, the Early Access will show off how much fun or extra work that gameplay mechanic will need before bringing the game fully to market. Have a look at the gameplay below and see if May 16th will be a day for you to join in the shooting gallery out there.
Histera — Early Access
Join the temporal turmoil of Histera on May 16th! Here, chaos becomes your worst enemy or your best ally in a matter of seconds. In the first-ever gameplay trailer for the arena shooter, developer StickyLock Studios shows what Histera’s unpredictable battlefields look like and reveals that players can join the fight on Steam!
Get your adrenaline pumping and your heart pounding in fast-paced online shooter Histera’s Early Access, available on Steam starting May 16th! Within the arena of Histera, the battlefield is in a constant state of flux — the Glitch can transform sections of the map into a variety of landscapes from different Eras at any given moment. In matches of 8 versus 8 players, you only have a small window to switch up your strategy and keep (or claim) the upper hand on the field, so you’d better act fast once the Glitch becomes imminent!
The first Eras to be included in Histera are futuristic Montorro City, the prehistoric Pliocene Plateau, and war-torn mid-20th century Novgorod. With the Glitch, the maps of these different eras can transform, posing both possibilities and challenges for players. Two gameplay modes will be available at the launch of Early Access: team deathmatch, where the goal is to eliminate the enemy as often as possible, and territory control, in which areas must be claimed and secured. Histera will receive regular updates both during its Early Access phase and beyond. The official road map highlighting the studio’s future plans will follow once the game has launched in Early Access.
Key Features:
- The Glitch: adjust your strategy to take advantage of the chaos caused by the Glitch. Master different terrains in the past, present and future, and push yourself to the limit as you rush to adapt and gain (or keep!) the advantage every time the Glitch occurs. The team that can best adapt to Histera’s unpredictable, time-distorting mosh pit will claim victory!
- High Replayability: with the Glitch mechanic transforming the map in the midst of the action, no two rounds of Histera will play out the same.
- Mix It Up: battle through prehistoric caves, a WW2 city under siege, and the neon-bathed streets of a dystopian metropolis wielding anything from spears to machine guns as time periods collide.
- Choose Your Weapon: use a wide variety of weapons to withstand the chaos wrought by the Glitch — will you stay in the shadows with a prehistoric hunting bow, or get up close with The Matchstick, a futuristic shotgun that can be loaded with incendiary rounds?
- Versatile FPS Gameplay: perfect for easygoing fans of the shooter genre looking for something different as well as hardcore gamers seeking their latest challenge.
What do you think about Histera and what it is going to offer up to the genre as a whole soon? Will this new gameplay mechanic truly shake things up or be something that players will wish was not in the game after a while? Head on down to the comment section to discuss all of that and everything else that we have to offer for the game. I know we will have more for Histera as the Early Access carries on and we get closer to the full launch of the game.
