Attempting to break into the hip-hop and R&B markets, they will be releasing DJ Hero, coming to you with special turntable peripheral. No longer content with sticking to plastic instruments, they are moving into plastic electronics. Couch Potato Hero will of course have plastic TV and remote as you sit on your couch playing a person sitting on a couch. All kidding aside I really hope to see this at E3 in a few weeks and take it for a spin*.
The announcement of Guitar Hero 5 is not surprising from Activision. Much like the antics of Nintendo, they are not afraid of putting something out to make a buck, and this will make them a few dollars, of that I am sure. Hopefully, with the announcement of Band Hero, the Guitar Hero franchise can move into a more hardcore franchise focusing on classic rock, hard rock and metal. Band Hero on the other hand will focus on the 'tween age group and the casual market with Top 40 hits and Pop music. Announced with an E-10+ rating from the ERSB, this installment will be a kinder, gentler Hero.
We'll have more coverage here on Aggrogamer.com as it comes out. In the mean time, keep hoping your little hearts out for Banjo Hero and Sousaphone Hero.
