It's been sometime since we heard anything from Konami about their Tactical Role-Playing Game Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment. It was rumored before that the game was going to be a remake of the PlayStation version of Vandal Hearts and was going to be released for the Nintendo DS. Mass Effect 2 now has a solid release date: January 26, 2010. While it's anybody's guess whether or not it actually comes out that day, it can be safe to assume that EA would be idiots to announce such a specific release date then push it back (again). Then again, we've all seen stranger things. The game, which is a direct sequel to 2007's Mass Effect, still features commander Shepard, who for some reason has lost all his abilities from the first game, trying to figure out why large colonies of humans are mysteriously vanishing (geth maybe?) The game will take place 2 years after the first Mass Effect (and was originally supposed to be released 2 years after as well, but who wants to go up against Modern Warfare 2). LucasArts today announced their new title Lucidity. The latest Puzzle Game will be available on Xbox Live arcade and PC. Players will play Sofi, a little girl who is dreaming, and as she drifts deeper and deeper into the dream world players will need to keep Sofi safe. Apparently this will be done by putting puzzle pieces in her way to "guide" her where she needs to go. LucasArts plans on bringing more games similar to "The re-imagining of The Secret of Monkey Island" and "Lucidity" to gamers. This is a pretty cool concept. Read More...

Well it's about time...Pyro Studios, creators of the famed Commandos series, is set to release a new Commandos game more in line with the first title in this WWII strategy franchise. How many of you recall the critically low scoring FPS shooter that was Commandos: Strike Force? Yeah, even Pyro Studios was less than enthusiastic about the title. EA Sports at E3 had announced a new MMA game to be released in 2010. Well EA just recently held a press conference for there new EA Sports MMA game. Randy Couture was there to announce that he has signed an Exclusive deal to appear in only MMA games created by EA. As this is MMA and not UFC there really is no conflict of interest. EA Sports's Madden NFL 10. The Best Madden Ever In years past (especially between 02 and 08) the annual Madden has been seen as somewhat of a roster update, however, Madden NFL 10 is something I've not experienced before: an ultra good looking, ultra realistic football game. Madden NFL 09 was a step in the right direction, with better graphics and new animations, however Madden 10 is a giant leap in the right direction, such a big leap it may have just landed where it needed to be. In years past, Madden has been hampered by a lack-luster graphics system that was essentially a beefed up PS2 engine. Continuing to add to the exclusivity of its new DJ Hero franchise, Activision today announced that The Scratch Perverts and DJ Yoda created exclusive mixes for the upcoming release. I think this new release of information shows us two things: Activision wants the fans to know that they are really putting it all into this title and they are also shrewdly telling any competition that may spring up, "Yeah, don't bother, we got this." Not exactly a bold move on the large corporation's part and it's hardly a new concept. Anyone else surprised that the beta for StarCraft II hasn’t even started yet? Well are you going to be surprised that officially StarCraft II is delayed till 2010? No? Well neither am I. According to G4TV and an ominous e-mail from Blizzard PR, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick announced the delay by saying, “StarCraft II is now scheduled to be released in ‘the first half of 2010’” The delay is linked to the revamped of Battle.net in which players will be using for the multiplayer portion of the game. September 16th of last year saw Lucasarts release the much anticipated Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Right from the get-go, TFU was all about giving players a more thorough Force-wielding experience. Powers like Force Push and Force Lightning could be used in ways far beyond anything we’d ever seen before in a Star Wars game. Following the games release though, Lucasarts supported the title by creating several downloadable packages. The Secret of Monkey Island has already come out in 3 editions, the floppy version for the Atari ST, Mac, and PC in 1990, the re-release PC version and Amiga versions in 1991, and the much more widely known CD version in 1992 that featured better audio and a new UI. The most recent fourth version, The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition is by far the best. It is available for the PC and 360 and features all new graphics as well as brand new voices recorded by the cast of Curse of Monkey Island (aka Monkey Island 3).
