If you thought you were teased before with the gameplay for A Plague Tale: Requiem, then get ready to have those teases taken away or amplified with the latest we have for the game. This time, not only do we have over twelve minutes of gameplay to take in from Asobo Studio to get us ready for how the game is going to shift, we also have a date to keep an eye on for when we will be able to play the game in total. Now we can look forward to seeing A Plague Tale: Requiem hit the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC on October 18th of this year. Not a stealth release at all, so get ready for all of those rats to crawl on your screen again in only a few months now.
Diving into the gameplay for A Plague Tale: Requiem now, we have a whole lot of the duo running and hiding along the way as we had before. Amicia is still the master of ranged combat and crafting just as in the last title, but it looks like most of the gameplay will be shaken up by Hugo this time around. As we suspected, he has a greater link to the rats out there after A Plague Tale: Innocence and can use them all in more ways than suspected. Like he can tap into their scent to "see" enemies around corners and behind walls now. All to relay the information back to Amicia so she can make the best call on when to run, hide, or strike the various enemies looking for them again. This is something she will have to master since it looks like it is all new environments when the duo does not have the home-field advantage, unlike most of last time.
Also as we suspected, Hugo will have some other control over the rats as he did at the end of A Plague Tale: Innocence. It definitely looks like we will have some scripted events during the game where Hugo will need to tap into the swarms directly. Sequences, where we will get to direct them around the world and to climb up to enemies to help, clear the paths along the way. This looks more to be a story element to A Plague Tale: Requiem instead of a feature we will have on a cooldown system, but that could change as we see more for the game leading up to the new release date. A Plague Tale: Requiem, the sequel to the critically acclaimed A Plague Tale: Innocence by Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment, revealed an Extended Gameplay trailer during the Focus Showcase, complete with an official release date announcement for October 18 and pre-orders available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC!

A Plague Tale: Requiem will release on October 18 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and in Cloud Version on Nintendo Switch. The game will also be available Day One with Xbox Game Pass for Console, PC, and Cloud.
