Deadness
Deadness VR has a release date for us as we watch how we will move around within Deadness VR when it comes
It is always weird, but February always seems to be filled with all of the horror titles just as much as October. Add one more to the list as Deadness VR is set up to hit us all on the PC this February 22nd. This is the latest horror title from Alien Studio that will have us strapped into a wheelchair and trying to escape our environment as the undead swarm us. If that does not sound terrifying, then you might be one of the braver humans out there. Especially since Deadness VR will only allow us to move around in the game via the way we would if we were actually in a wheelchair. It is a fun game mechanic and a way to fix the movement issue most VR games have.
Now that we have the date, we can take a look at how some of this gameplay looks like it will function in Deadness VR. While it is not the first title to try to use a specific implementation like this, it is one of the few that will use a wheelchair to explain it a bit. All while making us move about the horror-filled lands in a very unrealistic way. Not in terms of the turning and forward and backward motions, but that we will have the wheelchair in places that would just spell complete doom if we did. Unless there is some serious explanation in Deadness VR why we can roll around on a few pipes hanging above a room. Sure, it helps us traverse the area away from the monsters, but feels like it removes that immersion feel to it all. Have a look and see what I am talking about. The rest of it all looks like it will be terrifying. That portion just looks way too comical for the setting we will be in.
Deadness VR — Player Movement Showcase
In Deadness VR from Alien Studio, they have created a unique movement mechanism. You move yourself as if you were really sitting on a wheelchair, only using your hands to control the movement and velocity. Thanks to this system, the game creates an immersive and realistic experience. You can try for yourself on February 22nd, 2022.
Do you like the motions we will have to take in Deadness VR or will you get tired way too fast from it all? Is it odd to have us going to places that we normally could not with the wheelchair or will it somehow make sense in the game? Do you like this style of movement to fix the issue many other games have or is it a gimmick that only works in instances like this? Give us all of those thoughts down in the comments and discuss it all. If we have more for Deadness VR, we will share it here and on our socials. Keep a close eye on all of that so you do not miss out on a single update.
