GTFO Will Be Getting More Cinematic When It Comes To Streaming

GTFO

New technology is coming to GTFO that will allow for a virtual director to control the shots and angles of what is streamed while playing GTFO

It is always nice to see emerging technologies coming out for video games and in general and now we have one more in the works with GTFO spearheading it when it releases. The game that is and not just the tech as it looks like 10 Chambers Collective is only the first to be using the new feature of the Unity engine with other soon to follow I am assuming. Especially after they see how a novice can make a pretty solid looking game match stream look in GTFO using the CineCast option in the game. That would be the name of it all. Do not worry, though, if you are a PC gamer looking to see more of the game as we have that too.

What we have here in CineCast is the ability to have a new virtual director controlling what is streamed when we are playing four-player games like GTFO as well as many others built in Unity. What this does is it will watch the maps, characters, and NPCs in the game and select cameras and angles that seem to fit the best option to show things off. Like I said, a virtual director to capture the best shots and angles during your gameplay. It even has the options to let you take control and take over to not just rely on the AI of the system. While it does look to work here for GTFO, it is better seen in practice so we can get our hopes up for the future of the new system here.

GTFO — CineCast Live Demonstration

GTFO will be the first game to feature Unity’s new camera system CineCast. This is a dynamic camera system that works as a link between scene cameras and an advanced director system that evaluates the interest of potential shots, and in real-time creates cinematic footage of live gameplay.

You can obviously see that this is in an early state or GTFO may not be the best title to debut with. It could have also been the human sitting behind the computer making their own selections when the system may have had another. Nonetheless, I am all for it as it is always a pain when someone behind the screen does not know how to jump or transition to the best part of the game or match at the right time. Given that the AI has the ability to predict about three seconds ahead of the current action to figure things out, like a looming monster behind a door in GTFO, it has a lot of promise in my eyes. Especially as eSports and everything grows and grows. Sure it could put humans out of a job, but we will have better views of the games we are watching played by others.

What do you think about CineCast and how it showed off GTFO here? Do you think it still has some bugs to work out or will it be fully ready for when this game launches before the end of the year? Do you think it will make trailer capturing and eSports easier to watch or will it be something the lay-gamer will be using to spice up their streams more? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. While this was not heavy on the updates for GTFO, we will hopefully have more of those in short order. When we do, they will be here. Just be sure to keep checking back in for all of that in the near future.
