Spyro
Official word has come down that Spyro Reignited Trilogy is coming to us all and will house the first three Spyro titles in remastered form
Rumor no more as Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been announced and will be the nice big remastered package of these original games for us all. Most of the rumors we had heard so far have been about spot on, except that the games are being remastered by Toys For Bob instead. It will house the first three Spyro titles all rebuilt from the ground up and coming at us in the HD quality that the PS4 and Xbox One can currently push out there. It is not mentioned directly by Activision, but I am guessing it will be 1080p for the base models of the consoles and 4K for the Pro and X versions of the systems. I guess we will all find out soon or on September 21st when the bundle finally hits our homes. Most likely before, but we can guarantee that we will know on the release date at the latest.
Just like the recent Crash Bandicoot, all of the 100+ levels in Spyro Reignited Trilogy will look close to the originals just with the higher textures and models being used. You can see them somewhat in action below as the announcement trailer does show some comparisons. More or less, it is exactly what you can imagine given the huge popularity of the IP and how well the Crash remaster was handled. Have a look for yourself just below. Or if you want a real treat, spin up the N. Sane Trilogy and go the to the Crash 3 title screen. Once there put in the iconic code of ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → square and then see the same trailer play on the PS4 there. Not the biggest of treats I guess, but it is something to do.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy — All Scaled Up Reveal Trailer

In celebration of Spyro’s 20th anniversary, Activision Publishing is bringing the heat to fans before his official return this September. As a throwback to the original Spyro unveil, starting today Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy players in North America on PlayStation 4 can enter the iconic code (↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → square) into their controllers in the Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped title screen to watch the Spyro Reignited Trilogy trailer.
Remade from the ground up by lead developer Toys For Bob, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy features the fun and nostalgic gameplay that fans remember with more than 100 levels, enhanced reward sequences, Spyro’s gang of zany dragons and other goofballs (including Sparx the Dragonfly, Hunter, Sheila, Agent 9 and Sgt. Byrd) and more. The trilogy also includes improved environments, updated controls, brand-new lighting and recreated cinematics for added flavor in this one-of-a-kind adventure.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy is an awesome gaming experience that builds on the excellence of the first three games. Each level in Spyro Reignited Trilogy is mapped faithfully from the originals. The characters are creatively re-imagined with additional flair, allowing fans to rekindle the fire with Spyro and his crew like never before. Players will experience a trilogy that’s loaded with an astonishing amount of detail, refreshed modern day mechanics, full analog stick support and smooth camera handling. Spyro Reignited Trilogy also re-imagines Stewart Copeland’s original soundtrack from the first three games.
Paying homage to fans, Tom Kenny, the original voice actor in Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!, and Spyro: Year Of The Dragon, has returned as the voice of Spyro in the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
