The Walking Dead
Have a look at how The Walking Dead is getting some improved graphics for the upcoming The Walking Dead Collection next week
It has not been a huge secret that the PS4 and Xbox One were going to be getting The Walking Dead Collection here soon. Seeing as December 5th is right around the corner and that is the day that Telltale Games is going to push it out there, I guess it is high time that we talk about it all. For those who may have missed out on it all, this is the nice big bundle that houses all 19 episodes of The Walking Dead that the studio has put out there. It is crazy to think that we have had that many forays into that universe so far and we still have one more to go sometime in 2018. Nonetheless, here we go with the ice big collection that actually turns out to be a bit more than just a giant bundle of titles you already own out there on various machines.
How is that, well The Walking Dead Collection is not only all of the episodes, but it looks like they all come with some level of graphical improvement too. As you can see in the following trailer, there have been some upgrades to the scene here and others along the way to try to give us a better version of the whole experience. To some, it can be seen as an improvement but to me, it kind of takes away from the feel of it all. The game no longer looks like a living comic book to me but more of a standard 3D title. At least as standard as it can be here, but that was a huge selling point for me back when The Walking Dead first popped up. Not everything needs an upgrade to me, but for those out there who love that kind of thing, here you go.
The following visual upgrades will be out there for The Walking Dead Collection when it launches. There has been no direct word on if there will be a patch for those who already own all of the episodes individually, but if this is like the other releases from Telltale Games, I am going to assume so. Seeing as their physical discs are just there to give you access to the digital versions of the games. I do not want to assume though so take that as you will. At least for those totally new to it all, they can play everything in one sitting and then get ready to wait for the fourth and final season to drop next year.
The Walking Dead Collection — Graphics Comparison
The Walking Dead Collection will arrive in stores on December 5th at retailers across North America and Europe, gathering all 19 episodes in the award-winning series onto one disc for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The collection will also be available digitally on both platforms starting that same day. The collection includes the recent third season, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier, as well as visually enhanced versions of Season One, Season Two, 400 Days, and the three-part Michonne mini-series.
Do you like the upgrades that The Walking Dead Collection looks to have here or did you like the lower quality for the comic feel of it all? Do you agree that these upgrades will come to those who already have the episodes downloaded or will it truly be just for these disc holders? Did you miss out on the fun before and are glad to see that the whole collection can be played in one sitting without months of downtime between? Let us and the whole world know down in the comments and then discuss. For more on this and everything else for The Walking Dead, keep your browser set here.
