Let's Do The Impossible & Kill A God In Dishonored: Death Of The Outsider

Dishonored

The first gameplay trailer for Dishonored: Death Of The Outsider is here and we get to see how we are tackling this new Dishonored standalone DLC

During the big E3 event from Bethesda we heard that we were getting Dishonored: Death Of The Outsider to continue on the story as we all wanted. There isn't much more of a wait as we can see it on our PS4, Xbox One, or PC on September 15th but it would be nice to see what Arkane Studios has crafted so far to get us all hyped up for it. Gameplay for an upcoming title, or expansion, or DLC (or whatever this can be considered for the Dishonored universe as it is a standalone thing but not a full game), is always welcome to help us get a feel for it all and that is what we have here today. The first bit of gameplay to look at and get ready for another trip back to lurk around the gritty underbelly of Karnaca all to kill the Outsider. Kind of like the title states.

All of this follows along the characters who first popped up in the original Dishonored's DLC, Knife Of Dunwall, as they are tasked with taking down the god-like figure of the Outsider. It is their last contract here and it looks like it is to bring the end of all the supernatural mumbo jumbo that has been part of the series since the beginning. For the sake of the franchise I have a feeling I know how it is going to end, but that is the long and short of it for now. That is at least assuming the placement of this whole little bit in the mix of the overall story of Dishonored so far, but maybe there will be a lot of different options and endings that we can hit up based on the whole "play as you like" style of gameplay.

Dishonored: Death Of The Outsider — Do The Impossible… Kill A God

See a new side of Karnaca as Death Of The Outsider takes you through its gritty underbelly. Investigate mysterious cults, infiltrate underground fight clubs, and even pull off a bank heist as you search for a way to do the impossible: kill a god.

Playing as a new assassin, you’ll have access to slew of powerful new supernatural abilities, weapons and gadgets, all of which are designed to help you cut a bloody swath through Karnaca and leave your mark on the history. Or perhaps you’ll choose to be merciful and use your skills to slip unnoticed through the world. In true Arkane Studios fashion, the intricately designed levels allow for a wide array of playstyles, with branching paths and heavy choices that will greatly affect the outcome of your mission.

Hopefully you caught some of it in the trailer above, but Dishonored: Death Of The Outsider will also bring us new weapons, gear, and supernatural abilities to help us along in our mission. None of them have been fully detailed by Arkane Studios so far, but we can see some of them in action as well as some of the favorites over the history of the IP. Blink or some form of teleportation has always been in the franchise and it would be weird not to see that again. Given that we are taking on a god-like being though we are going to need some other heavy hitting things in our list. Hopefully a few other things that were brought into Dishonored 2 but we'll have to wait and see for now.

Are you excited for Dishonored: Death Of The Outsider to be coming along so soon? Do you see this more of an expansion than a DLC or is it more of a mini-game that is coming to further expand and change the overall game universe here? What powers and abilities do you hope to have in this whole new adventure or do you just want more of the stuff you've perfected so far? Let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss. As we find out more for Dishonored: Death Of The Outsider, we will have it up here on the site. Be sure to keep checking in to stay on top of it all and then get ready to pick it all up in September.
