Super NES
The Super NES Classic Edition has been announced and this little Super NES will be bringing us a lot more of our favorite titles
Get your nostalgia engines running as the Super NES Classic Edition has been officially announced now and will be bringing us many of our favorite titles from the '90s so we can relive them all. This isn't some little extra add-on for the Switch that Nintendo is bringing us here, but the same deal we recently had with the NES and all of those old '80s titles that almost no one could purchase online outside of eBay scalpers. Here we all go again to lose our minds over the Super NES and all of those older titles we loved when we were younger, for those '80s and '90s kids at least, but a way to show more of the current generation where all their current games started out. At least mostly when it comes to the Nintendo titles.
Currently the Super NES Classic Edition isn't up for pre-orders in the North American region, but when it is you can secure your unit for $79.99 USD and then expect it to come to your home on September 29th. At least if you are able to get one. It has been quoted that there will be more of the Super NES Classic Editions produced than the NES Classic Editions so it might be a bit easier, but only time will tell. At least you know that you won't have to buy anything else after market for it as this bundle is slated to come with the Super NES unit, HDMI cable, a USB charging cable with an AC adapter, and two wired controllers to play with. Yes, there will be two now we just need to hope that the cables are a bit longer.
As far as the games coming with the Super NES Classic Edition, there will be a bit fewer in the mix. Currently there are only 21 slated, and you can see the North American list below, but that doesn't mean that modding and hacking won't change that. It will all just be another way to play all of those old titles like…wait…Final Fantasy III, Super Mario RPG, and the unreleased Star Fox 2 will be on here? Why the fuck would you need to mod or hack it? There is a really nice spread of titles here and now I am extremely glad that Nintendo is going to produce more of these units to make them easier to get. Now the wait begins…
The Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition has the same look and feel of the original system – only smaller – and comes pre-loaded with 21 incredible games:
