Darksiders
Darksiders III has been officially announced after many Darksiders III leaks popped up in preparation for the full reveal of the game
All of those hopes and prayers have been answered as Darksiders III has just been announced by THQ Nordic and is coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2018. Yes, this is not a drill or more wishful thinking based on the remasters we saw recently from Gunfire Games and such. I am sure that both remasters of the other Darksiders titles help push this along, but now we have it and now we have to wait. Another year of waiting but what is one more year when we all have been waiting five years already since the last game originally came out? Now the story continues.
Just as many had assumed it would go, Darksiders III is featuring the only female horseman in the lot named Fury. She has been seen in the background of the other titles but now she is front and center and using her whip, guns, and magic to take on another task for Old Ones. This time around we are going to be hunting down the physical forms of the Seven Deadly Sins and with Fury at the helm. Seems a bit odd, but I have a feeling that they were all in on the plot that set the whole Darksiders franchise rolling so we get to look out for that and some amazing artwork in the mix as well.
Darksiders III — Official Reveal Trailer
Meet Fury, the sister of the Four Horsemen you'll be playing as in the new action-adventure sequel.
In terms of timeline, it looks like Darksiders III will be running parallel to the events of Darksiders II. This is most likely to explain what the other horsemen were doing as Death set out to prove War's innocence in it all, but it does look like there may be some overlap in the timelines we will get to see. Maybe some of those other "weird" events we saw happen but never were able to explore before in the other titles were set off by Fury, and maybe Strife, as we see this story unfold a bit more. I know I'm excited to see it all go down and am super amped that Gunfire Games is bringing it to us.
While it was mentioned before, and Darksiders III received the full announcement before this was finished being written, the whole thing started when Amazon jumped the gun in showing off the game on their site. I am sure there will be some words between them and THQ Nordic, but as it was only by an hour or so I am sure it won't be too bad. Thankfully it did give us all a few screenshots from the playable version of Darksiders III and some great concept art. That and a good look at some of the details mentioned above in terms of story and world that we will be exploring. Thankfully the internet is here to save all these blunders.
- Play as FURY — a mage who must rely on her whip and magic to restore the balance between good and evil on Earth!
- Harness FURY's magic to unleash her various forms — each granting her access to new weapons, moves and traversal abilities.
- Explore an open-ended, living, free-form game world in which FURY moves back and forth between environments to uncover secrets while advancing the story.
- Defeat the Seven Deadly Sins and their servants who range from mystical creatures to degenerated beings.
- Darksiders' signature art style — expansive post-apocalyptic environments that take the player from the heights of heaven to the depths of hell, dilapidated by war and decay and overrun by nature.
Now that Darksiders III has been officially announced, are you amped to get back into the game's universe? Do you think that Fury seems to be a little more abrasive to her younger brother here in the trailer or could it all be a ploy against the Old Ones for what is going on? Do you think that we will see some overlap between the two titles mentioned given the timelines running at the same time? Let us know your thoughts on all of this and more down in the comments and then discuss. We will be all over Darksiders III now that we know it is truly coming. Keep checking in here for more in the coming months as we only have a year to wait now.
