Typhon Research Has Begun In Prey & Here Are Some Of The Findings

Prey

Have a look at three of Prey's Typhon aliens in action along with how they may function in Prey and how we will be able to handle them in the long run

We've seen them a bit already in Prey but now it looks like it is time to have a better breakdown of the alien creatures, known as Typhon, for the game. Well, at least three of them for now even though we see four in the list, but maybe that was just Arkane Studios suggesting that one is really just the "cocoon" of sorts to build to the others. I'm sure we'll know more soon or at least on May 5th when Prey launches out there. For now we just a deeper look and feel for the three main ones that we have here and then hope that Bethesda releases another video to show off a few of the others that we will see. I'm sure there has to be more than this in the whole game.

In the video here we start off with my personal favorite, the Mimic, and get to see it do its thing yet again. Given that we've seen this little guy in so many of the other Prey trailers and gameplay videos there really isn't much more to go on with here. They can change shape to look like anything about the same mass and were being looked at for their uses in humans. Then we have the Phantoms, again seen many times before, who are composed of the mixture between a Weaver and a dead human body. These are the bigger threats that have the polymorphic tentacles and look to do a lot more damage real quick. Again, nothing too new here but it is a nice look at how it is all broken down.

The newest to the list here has to be the Telepath for Prey. To my knowledge the masses have yet to see this creature in any of the other videos Arkane Studios has put together and this one looks to do just as the name sounds. It can control lesser lifeforms all Professor X style and it looks like it can control Yu a bit if the video here looks the way I took it. I'm also going to guess that these will be the Typhon that are corrupting the machines on the space station as we've seen before and heard about in the past. There has yet to be word on what is causing some of the machines to malfunction and help the Typhon and harm us. I'm guessing this one until we see more.

Prey — Typhon Research

Something has gone very, very wrong aboard Talos I. What began as an experiment aimed at bettering humanity has turned into a full-on alien infestation by the previously contained entities called Typhon. With a full ecology, the Typhon aliens are more than just shadowy creatures hell-bent on destroying the human race. Now Morgan Yu, who is at the center of these experiments, must fight the invasion in order to save humanity.

Are you ready to hunt down these Typhon in Prey or are you more fearful for what has not been shown yet? Do you think that these will be it or are their other deviations and 'mutations' we will see as the games presses on? Are you curious too as to why the Weaver never had a part in this video here or is there something that Bethesda wants to keep hidden from us in the long run? Let us know all of your thoughts on this and more down in the comments. With each new bit for Prey you'll want to stick close here as we will have it all for you and you won't want to miss out on a single little bit as we get closer to May 5th.
