Stray
A new title, Stray, has been announced and will take us on the journey of a 'Stray' dog on its way back to its family
If you ever had the curiosity of what happens to a dog when it is abandoned or gets lost then it looks like the new title Stray may be here to answer all of your questions here. This is a new cinematic platforming title from Robot Gentleman that aims to take you on just that adventure. Yes, you'll get to be in the role of a Stray dog lost in the wilderness just trying to make its way back home and to safety. It sounds like the PC, PS4, and Xbox One could have another heartstring pulling title on the way here as soon as they can get it out there. Currently there is no release date and this is just an announcement is how that should be read.
Given that this is just an announcement here that means that details on Stray are a bit few and far here. There is a trailer for the game that gives us an idea on what is going on in the game but nothing concrete. It does look like we will have some form of animal senses and instinct in the game to get past all of the hazards out there but, like I said, there are no solid details on that just yet and this is all we have to go on. Have a look at the teaser here for Stray and see some of what the game is about.
Stray — Reveal Teaser
For a dog lost in unfamiliar wilderness the road may be long, and the journey harsh. But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and strength is what you need to get home. But where is home? Once a pet, now a Stray, you embark on the most dramatic adventure of a dog's life. Wandering through the untamed world, you will encounter the darkness and light that dwells within. Facing the wilderness will only be possible with all of your animal senses and instincts. Any howl can be your last and one step too many can turn you into prey. But the only way to go back is to push forward. Uncover the touching story of the Stray and get home.
I am a bit confused here with the trailer as it doesn't look like this dog is a stray but more being hunted by some dickish humans. Maybe that is just my take on it all as we watch the dog become more and more 'feral' in the teaser as its end looms closer. Maybe this is just how the dog got lost in Stray and these people killed the dog's owners? We could look at it that way but I'd like to think that the dog would be left alone if that were the case. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. At least if this tickles your fancy in video game ideas.
What do you think about what we have here for Stray? Is this a concept that grabs your attention or will it be for a very small set of gamers out there? Do you think that it is odd that the dog looks to be hunted here by humans and not nature? Let us know your thoughts on it all in the comments and then discuss. As more on Stray is revealed we will have it here on the site. Be sure to keep on the lookout for all of that as it comes.
