If you felt like you needed a new platforming brawler title, then let me show you Brawlout here. This is just what I was talking about coming out of the minds at Angry Mob Games and set to hit early 2017 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Finally, we get a brawling game that isn't a console exclusive or something and I'm glad to see Brawlout giving the genre another try. Of course I'll be even more glad once the full reveal and gameplay comes out of the first major showing of the game during EVO this weekend. Hopefully it impresses those die-hard Smash Bros. players out there as a new title to add into the mix.
Currently there are only five characters shown off for Brawlout with eight being listed on the official site for the game. This of course is to point toward the fact that the game will have up to eight-player brawls online and offline. The offline version all being available around one screen if you happen to have eight controllers or friends with enough controllers. That just seems like a bit too much but they had to do something to stand out from all of the other games that people will say Brawlout is just cloning. As always happens. Hopefully not here.
While we wait for a solid and longer showing of Brawlout, with hopefully all the characters, here we have the first reveal trailer for the game. It shows off the anthropomorphic animals using tooth and claw and many other weapons to inflict massive and fast damage to boot the others off the platform. It looks like it has to be better than all of the other crappy additions into the genre we've had before. Fingers are crossed for Brawlout and now we wait for more…
Brawlout — Reveal Trailer
Brawlout can host up to eight players in online and local battles, including ranked online tournaments, in addition to offering a single-player campaign. Each fighter will have distinct advantages, including powerful projectiles or long-range whip attacks, and can be evolved with further combo options or advanced technical moves. Fighting also builds a player's Rage Meter, which fuels powerful special attacks.
What do you think about Brawlout here? Does it look like it will be a great addition into the genre or will it fall flat? Do you think we will have more than eight characters in the final version of the game or will that be it for the small team? Let us know your thoughts and feel free to discuss it all in the comments below. For more on Brawlout as it comes out keep your eyes glued here as we will bring everything that we can. Hopefully more after EVO this weekend but only fingers crossed right now will have to do.
