Dying Light
A new update to the Dying Light developer tools will allow fans to build their own custom Dying Light experiences in the realm of Co-Op and Multiplayer modes
Another free update for Dying Light's developer tools has been released and it looks like it adds quite a bit in the world of Co-Op and PvP for the game. Quite a bit in terms of it is giving you all the tools to build cooperation-based scenarios and Deathmatch maps now in Dying Light just like Techland would if they weren't so busy getting the next major DLC out to us. Of course this is all for the PC version of Dying Light but if we dig a bit deeper into a few things I think we may see something for the PS4 and Xbox One. More on that in moment…
This update for Dying Light's developer tools launches alongside the latest user created map "Don't Drown." In this map the goal is to take out other players and zombies as the water level of the island rises ever so; hence the name. From the looks of things a PC gamer can get access to all of these new Dying Light tools now as the map has been out for what looks like a while now over on Steam. I'm guessing that your Dying Light files are being updated as you read this now.
Have a look at the latest trailer for the Dying Light dev tools update and hang around for what was mentioned up above for those console gamers out there…
Dying Light — Co-Op & PvP
‘Just like with the main game we’ve been supporting the Dev Tools for almost a year now, and we’ve already seen amazingly creative stuff from our fans’ – says producer Tymon Smektała. – ‘We believe the co-op and PvP support can inspire a new wave of original maps for everyone to enjoy. At the same time, we’re working hard to bring some of the very best custom maps to consoles, and I hope we’ll have something to announce soon.’
In addition to the PvP and Co-Op tools for Dying Light it looks like some more of those great user created maps could be heading to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game here soon. Specifically what was placed at the end of the above statement from Techland on the tools and modes we will get to play with. I am going to say that it is more likely the team there making the converts over to the consoles and not full on dev tools for Dying Light but at least more of us will get to experience all that the game has to offer and more. I'm ready and waiting for the updates now.
What are your thoughts on these new Dying Light modes passing along to the modding community here? Do you think that this will bring even more great content or just more one-sided maps? Do you think that we will ever see even a basic version of the Dying Light dev tools on the console versions of the game? Let us know and discuss away in the comments below. As we get further updates on Dying Light out of Warner Bros. we will have them up on the site so be sure to keep your browser locked here for more in the near future.
