Dying Light
It has been announced the Dying Light's upcoming DLC, The Following, will have a price increase to bring you more Dying Light than ever before
Not many people like surprises so that is why we are going to bring this recent Dying Light: The Following update to you know. Granted this news does seem like a bit of a surprise from Techland but seeing as it does affect anything until December 8th we still have a bit of time to let it soak in. Also to plan on if you are still going to be picking up this DLC for Dying Light as it has now been stated the price will be going up for The Following. At least in terms of standalone. Those with a Dying Light Season Pass before said date will still be getting this DLC as part of the deal.
Before you get all upset over this it is worth noting that the price hike is from $14.99 to $19.99 and nothing overly drastic for Dying Light. This DLC is supposedly adding in what amounts to a full on expansion and not just some low level DLC after all. Techland did spend a good chunk of time working on Dying Light: The Following and I am sure that Warner Bros. needs to recoup some of the money spent so far. They may make video games but they are also in the business of making money and we all know how that goes if you actually played Dying Light already.
Also so you are not shocked, the Season Pass price will be going up on December 8th from $19.99 to $29.99. This change won't cost anything for those who already picked up the Season Pass for Dying Light but for those who miss the date it will incur the extra charges. The early adopters just happen to get Dying Light: The Following at the original price point of free. That is at least a good thing for fans of the game that are still looking for more almost a year after launch now. Crazy how time flies when you are killing the undead in Dying Light right?
Dying Light — The Following
Over the past weeks Dying Light: The Following has almost reached its final stage: main quests, side quests, new skills, and driving challenges are ready. We now are moving into the polishing period. Looking at it, it’s clear how big the expansion pack has grown – it could be a standalone title, but since it would mean a launch delay, we decided against it.
However, due to the increased scale of the project, we needed to revise the pricing that we announced back in August, and so we want to let you know that Dying Light: The Following will be priced at $19.99.
Starting December 8th 2015, the Season Pass will be sold at $29.99. We didn’t want this to come as a surprise to you, so we’re announcing it in advance. This price change will not affect players who already own the Season Pass.
How does this price change affect you and your Dying Light experience? Will you be picking up a Season Pass before December 8th or did you already give Techland that money and are sitting pretty? Do you think that there really will be enough mixed into this expansion for Dying Light to dictate the price increase? Let us know what you think in the comments below. If Warner Bros. clears more on Dying Light: The Following to share we will have it here for you so be sure to keep it here for more on this DLC and more of the goings on in Dying Light.
