Technomancer
A new gameplay trailer for The Technomancer has been released and it gives quite a bit more detail on the mechanics used in The Technomancer's combat and skills
Until now we've had very small and basic looks at The Technomancer and the gameplay it will house. It looks like it is shaping up to be an interesting action RPG for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC but we really need more substance to make a solid decision on how Spiders is bringing the game to light. Screenshots and basic descriptions are nice but we need more. Thankfully it looks like Focus Home Interactive felt the same way and not we have a nice new trailer for The Technomancer to get us all hyped for its release in "early 2016."
There is a lot of the same stuff we've seen before and heard before for The Technomancer here but in this new trailer we do get to see all of the combat stances and more of the stealth action mixed in. Of course it is all still a work in progress and I am hoping that means the character models will get an upgrade from Spiders to match the amazing backgrounds and environments of The Technomancer but we'll have to wait and see. Until then we have the three different styles to look at in the way of Staff, Rouge, and Protections.
The Technomancer — First Contact Trailer
- Staff: Highly mobile long-ranged melee to hit multiple targets.
- Rogue with knife and gun: Agile, mobile, with dodges, rolls, and effective CC with the gun.
- Protection with mace and shield: Parry, block, and beat them to death with powerful attacks.
I know that a "deep, modular crafting system" was mentioned here for The Technomancer but did you see any of it in action here? I know I didn't. I have a feeling that it will really be more of the basic crafting systems we've seen before when scrap parts are all the rage and what the characters have but maybe Spiders will surprise us in The Technomancer. Also hopefully we will get a surprise in the way of another new trailer digging into all of that as "early 2016" isn't that far off anymore. There is a time limit and we are going to want even more for The Technomancer to make the sell here.
Crafting all aside though, what do you think of the combat stances in The Technomancer that we did get to see here? Do they look as new and different as Spiders wants them to be or do they fall right into the generic action RPG style we are used to? What are your thoughts in general on The Technomancer so far? We want to know and you can let us know down in the comments where we will keep discussions flowing. Focus Home Interactive will most likely have a lot more on The Technomancer soon so if it has tickled your fancy then you need to keep checking back for all of the news and updates you can handle.
