Outlast 2 Has A Release Window For When Your Faith Will Be Tested

Outlast 2

A new teaser trailer for Outlast 2 has been released and a small update on the development for Outlast 2 has been issued from the developer

It's been almost a year to the day that we had confirmation that Outlast 2 was in the works. When such a small title that hit so hard as Outlast did sells more that 3.5 million copies it should be quite easy for Red Barrels to work on the sequel. But it has been a year and still no Outlast 2 gameplay but at least we have some kind of update. That and part of the latest update is that we can look forward to being terrified with Outlast 2 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC in the Autumn of 2016. That is the release window for now but I think it is safe to say it will be out around Halloween of 2016 when all is said and done.

Back to the other updates here for Outlast 2. We do have a nice new teaser video to look out for the game but as I said before there is no gameplay at all. Just hints at what Red Barrels is going to have in Outlast 2 that also includes the theme of the game. From my understanding we are going to get to see a lot more on the weird religious aspects of Outlast that kind of went unanswered here in Outlast 2. At least that is the theme of things from the following teaser video and description given about the game thus far.

Outlast 2 — Teaser

“No conflict is ever black and white. But once the dust has settled, the victors get to decide who was right and who was wrong. Who is good and who is evil. Human nature pushes us to extremes of violence and depravity, which we then justify by divine inspiration and a promise of paradise to come. Horror rises from desperation and blind faith. Outlast 2 will test your faith, pushing players to a place where going mad is the only sane thing to do.”

Outlast 2 is set to tell a story with completely new environments and characters so don't think we are going to see all of that again. Of course Outlast 2 isn't going to throw away what worked before and, as seen in the above video, the night vision camera will be back to show off all the horrors running around in Outlast 2. Some of the best things that drove terror into gamers from the original. Now we just sit back and hope that Red Barrels is able to craft the same compelling story and gameplay they had in before but for Outlast 2 now. I am so very excited to see how it all plays out.

Even though there isn't much more for Outlast 2 here, what are your thoughts on it all? Do you think Red Barrels is going to be able to hit a home run again or will it suffer as other sequels do? Did you enjoy Outlast in the first place? What do you think we will experience here in Outlast 2? Let's discuss all of this down in the comments. Once we get more for Outlast 2 here we will have all of the information on the site for you so be sure to check back in. Hopefully it won't be another year until we get another solid update…
