The Evil Within has been out for around four months now and people have ponied up the extra cash to have the season pass for any and all DLC that could be coming. Well some of it has been promised and one bit was to be able to play a story driven portion of the game surrounding Juli Kidman. That would be the protagonist's partner in the core story of The Evil Within. Well that DLC, title The Assignment, has been teased a bit and we have yet another tease for it only now we have a release month that we will be able to pick up The Evil Within and keep playing a bit more.
Tango Gameworks and Bethesda are bringing this new DLC for The Evil Within to all platforms this coming March. That is as close to a date as we have now as that is all that is shown in the following teaser trailer for The Assignment. There is still no word on when the other two bits of DLC for The Evil Within, The Consequence and The Keeper, will be coming but I think it will be safe to just use the Blizzard mentality here. It will release when it is ready for release. If anything though it will keep The Evil Within queued up for play well into this year too.
The Evil Within — The Assignment
I am not sure how I feel about this new DLC for The Evil Within taking so long to come out. On one hand it does feel like Tango Gameworks didn't leave it out to charge an extra fee for early adopters of The Evil Within like other games feel to do. It does have that sense that they were working on this complete in post-production for The Evil Within and not side by side. Then you have the other hand where people paid $20 over four months ago now and have yet to have more than teases for what they paid for. It is a weird balance I guess.
If anything though it will give us all another reason to venture into The Evil Within. I'm still trying to wrap up my play through so I guess I better get to playing so I am ready in March. Are you ready though? Are you looking forward to The Evil Within's DLC? Did you already forget about the game? Let the world know in the comments.
