For those of you who don't know; Challenge Mode Dungeons are Heroic dungeons on crack. Enemies hit harder, have more health, and some bosses even have added abilities. On top of all that you are timed. The faster you go the higher chance you have of reaching a gold medal. Most dungeons have a 13 to 18 minute window for gold. While silver is 20 to 25 minutes and bronze is in the 30 - 45 minute range.

I tried a Challenge Dungeon the other week with a few guild mates, and boy did we get our butts kicked. We wiped (that's a WoW term for everyone in the party died) a few times before we could finally finish the whole thing. Beating challenge mode dungeons awards a daily 60 valor points, as long as you have the daily quest for the right dungeon, as well as a title, mounts, and of course; Challenge Mode Gear. Leader boards are also available and you can always see what your server's best time is on every dungeon, as well as your own.

For those who are interested in doing some of these Challenge Dungeon's you must get together a group of five people; A Tank, A Healer, and Three Damage Dealers. Gear is regulated within each dungeon, which means if you have any gear above 463 item level it will be rounded down, along with its stats. Sadly you cannot "queue" for a challenge dungeon; instead you must build your own team and fly out to the specific dungeon yourselves. Upon entering any Challenge Dungeon you will find a wall of smoke and an orb before you. Touch the orb and in five seconds your run shall begin. Best of luck.
