A new turn-based title, Norse, is on the way to us all and giving us an immersive story as Norse unfolds
Start work on your longboat again as we are about to have another dip into the Viking setting as we get the tease for Norse. A new title that Arctic Hazard is now working on with Tripwire Interactive helping to bring it to us all on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. As long as we are all still ready to head into this dark age of the culture and set off to do some extra pillaging and other violent things out there. The title of Norse does kind of put us all in that place instantly when we think about it, but is there going to be something other than that in the game? That is where the tease trailer for it will step in to show off just what we are going to get to experience when the gameplay kicks right off out there this year.
The twist we are getting here for Norse that we do not normally get for the setting is that this one is a turn-based title with some settlement building along the way. The teaser seems to be highlighting all of the dramatic parts of it all more than anything, but we do get to see how some of the other gameplay will flow. All of this happens as we take on the role of Gunnar, who has set out on a quest of vengeance in the world. His father was killed, and now blood has to be extracted from the traitor. This is why we will be exploring, rebuilding, and fighting our way through the world of Norse. Along with all of the other religious elements that crop up in the setting too. It would not be a game in the Viking age without all of the human sacrifice and burning of things. Tripwire Interactive announced a new partnership deal with independent developer Arctic Hazard to publish their upcoming Viking-age, turn-based tactical title, Norse. Currently in development for Windows PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, Norse is scheduled for release in North America and Europe in 2025.
