The Talos Principle
The Talos Principle 2 is out there and it looks like one of the main inspirations of The Talos Principle is out there playing the game
The Talos Principle 2 is out there as of you reading these words and is giving us all manner of fun on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Maybe you have jumped into the game or maybe you are making Croteam wait just a little longer to get your money for the game. No matter the case, the game is out there and many are playing it. To get in on the fun of it all, we have a look at someone else who is giving The Talos Principle 2 a play. The being is GLaDOS. The main "villain" of the Portal series, which was one of the obvious inspirations for this game. Thankfully, this was all caught and now we can see what GLaDOS thinks of the game just as we are playing it or getting ready to play it. If anything, there is a cat for you to go crazy over.
In this little clip, there is a bit of fun to be had with some gameplay of The Talos Principle 2, but all in all, it is not much of what we have not seen before. Well, outside of the cat that is in there because so many out there will lose their minds any time one of these things comes on the screen. The best part of all of this is that we have the main voice of GLaDOS narrating along through the gameplay while also making comments about how The Talos Principle 2 is rather like Portal. Something I know I feel vindicated for after making that call so many times. Even when it got very close to copyright infringement as also gets called out here. All in a fun little wink to the audience that one went about the same design element in just different ways. Both make for a great game. Have a look and see just what GLaDOS has to say about it all for yourself.
The Talos Principle 2 — GLaDOS Plays The Game
Get it on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S now, you monsters.
Thanks to Valve Software and the voice of GLaDOS, Ellen McLain.
Born into a new world where biological humanity is extinct but human culture lives on in a city of robots, you find yourself swept up in a mind-bending adventure involving a mysterious megastructure hiding enormous powers.
The more you discover, the more you will be confronted with questions about the nature of the cosmos and the purpose of civilization. The broken promise of a better tomorrow, the fear of repeating humankind’s mistakes, faith in reason, or renouncing humanity altogether — the choices you make and the sides you take will determine the course of events.
I have yet to spin up The Talos Principle 2 yet, but it is solidly on my slate of games out there to play. Most likely during this year's Extra Life event that fires off tomorrow. It will be just as fun and great to see how the very homages we know will be in there have been used. Not to mention that Valve and all of the other powers that be have effectively signed off on all of this, so it should make The Talos Principle 2 for a better game out there. Not that we have not seen one brand hyping another for no reason in the past… In this instance, I have a feeling it is more of a thumbs up instead of a "put cash in my hand" gesture that is being made. I could be wrong, but I would wager that I am not in this go of it all.
Did you see all of these things back when the first version of The Talos Principle was out there or did you have to wait until the game dropped full portals to get it? Do you like seeing that one studio has given the thumbs up to the other or is that just a way to make us buy into the marketing based on the nostalgia of the established IP? Do you think we could get a full voice-over version of this game with GLaDOS or would that be asking for a bit much in a New Game+ mode? head into the comments to discuss all of this and everything else we have to share for the game. We will have a lot more for The Talos Principle 2 once we dive in, so please keep on checking back for all of that and everything else we have to offer up out there.
