Aliens
The story for Aliens continues very soon and we have a little bit more for it in Aliens: Dark Descent
Many have been waiting for a good story addition to the Aliens IP and we have had some good ones in the past. We have also had a few bad ones. That is why it is exciting to see just what Tindalos Interactive has been working on for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on June 20th. That is when we are getting the addition to it all with Aliens: Dark Descent. Given the fact that we have had some of the main IP holders helping out with the story, we should be even more excited. Although, we can get a little look at it all just before the game launches with the latest trailer we have to enjoy it for the next bit of time.
We have had a few little bits of this for Aliens: Dark Descent already and it looks like things are going the same as usual when it comes to the IP. That is that the Weyland-Yutani corporation is out there trying to get a hold of the Xenomorph out there. Hence why we are sending more marines into the mix to collect the one that got away. This is also why they have placed a planetary lockdown to make sure it and we do not get off the planet until we collect it all. Nothing overly new for the Aliens out there, but still something to keep us all going. As if heading to the planet and shooting a bunch of them with some cool space guns was not excuse enough to hop in and play the game, though.

Prepare for a terrifying original Alien tale.
In Aliens: Dark Descent, players take on real-time combat against iconic Xenomorphs and brand-new threats. Using a range of tactical abilities, they recruit, level up and command a squad of Colonial Marines as one unit with intuitive controls on keyboard & mouse as well as on controller. Players will need to use their wits to navigate expansive, persistent, and reactive levels where death is permanent.
This thrilling gameplay takes place as heart-pounding events unfold the horrors and wonders of an authentic Alien narrative through a cinematic campaign full of sinister secrets.
The nightmare begins when the Otago spacecraft crash lands on Planet Lethe after a Xenomorph escaped containment and caused the activation of the Cerberus Protocol — a planetary lockdown preventing all ships from leaving or landing on the planet. Aliens: Dark Descent’s original campaign will pit players against iconic Xenomorph creatures — from Facehuggers to Praetorians, Alien Queens, and many more — as well as rogue human commandos and a brand-new threat. A cast of memorable characters set the plot in motion, notably Maeko Hayes, Deputy Administrator at Lethe’s Pioneer Station; Jonas Harper, Sergeant for the US Colonial Marines; and Barbara Pryce, Colony Director for the Weyland-Yutani.
Gear up and discover the source of a strange and dire threat in Aliens: Dark Descent on June 20 when the game releases on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC.
Even though it does sound a little basic for the story in Aliens: Dark Descent, I am still a bit excited about it. This is a sign that the IP is getting back to what made it fun in the first place and not adding in all of the other convoluted ideas that the films have done. Even if it does look like we will see more of the other hybrids in the game. I hope that it will all make a bit more sense instead of just getting placed in for the shock and awe. Thankfully, we do not need to wait much longer to see and hear it all. Now is the time to pre-order if you are even slightly interested in Aliens: Dark Descent. Let us just hope that the gameplay is just as fluid as it looks in all of the trailers so far.
Did you think things were going to get shaken up for the Aliens IP here or is it fine to have the by-the-numbers feeling story here? Could this all be a cover for a deeper and darker story that the team has mixed in? Will they actually make this all part of the larger IP or just another story they will ignore for the films and coming show that is in the works? Take all of that into the comment section and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish to do. With any luck, we will have a lot more for Aliens: Dark Descent to share with you all. Please keep checking back in for all of that and everything else that we can share with you in the mix.
