A new story trailer for The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum is out there so we can see how the team built more of the story for Gollum
Just when we all think we know most of the story out there for Gollum, we get one more look at how the story might have unfolded when the camera or narrator was not talking about the character. That is the path that Daedalic Entertainment is going down for this title at the very least. All with a few more things that link back to the main story of The Lord Of The Rings. That is how it is all sounding for The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum for now, but we will not know for sure until the game hits the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC. It is still supposed to drop out there this year, so there should not be a long wait to see just where it all goes.
Below, we have a little bit more to the story we are going to play through with Gollum here and it does look like there have been a few liberties taken with all of it here. It all takes place in the eight years before the main story of The Lord Of The Rings and follows this little guy through the lands. We are going to get to see various other things that have not been highlighted, like evil humans and elves helping Gollum out along the way. Even if it does look as if there is some extra romance going on that feels a little out of place to me. The team does state that they have poured through all of the current content out there in Tolkien's notes, but it is hard to say if this is how the story would have gone. We will just have to wait and see if the estate grabs on and makes it the true story of it all and we can get deeper into the character's head than ever before.
