Wyrdsong
A new RPG, Wyrdsong, was announced and from the sounds of it, Wyrdsong will be giving us a weird alternate history to walk
It is time to get a little more weird out there, as we have a new title announced here with Wyrdsong. It is another of the smaller titles, comparatively, to the many others that were announced and shown off at Gamescom. That does not mean we should not be excited to see what Something Wicked Games will be built for us with the Open World RPG here. An RPG that will be dipping into both the real world history and also splitting into its own fictional version of things. Just as a name like Wyrdsong suggests that we will be getting. Even if the trailer here offers up the same level of weird that we know for it all so far.
While little is still known for Wyrdsong, we do not even have platforms, the following trailer touches on a few things that are known for the game. Well, only slightly with it diving into a fictionalized Portugal in the Middle Ages. All as we follow an unreliable narrator that we will be able to customize as much as question on if we are getting the true story. Given that Wyrdsong is coming from a solid pedigree of developers, I can see how that is going to hit us all fairly hard. At least when the game does finally launch and give us something deeper to look at. I just hope that this was not a tease for something yet to come or that might never come. Time will only tell from here, though.
Wyrdsong — Announcement
Wyrdsong is the new AAA open-world preternatural RPG from Something Wicked Games, a new, globally dispersed AAA games studio led by Jeff Gardiner, a 15-year veteran of Bethesda (Skyrim, Fallout 3/4/76) and co-founder, Charles Staples (The Outer Worlds, Fallout NV), with creative and technical lead talent from Obsidian Entertainment, Bioware, and Bethesda.
Do you have any thoughts on Wyrdsong as of yet or is it hard to form an idea based on what little we have been given here? Do you think all of this is going to be in our protagonist's head or will some of it actually take place? Do you suspect we will be shunted into alternate dimensions along the way for the game or is this all just to show how the different aspects of our character will flow out there? Go ahead and let us all know down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all. I hope we will get a whole lot more for Wyrdsong, and when we do, we will share it all on the site for you. Please keep checking back in for all of that and everything else we will have to offer up along the way.
