Scathe
The next devlog for Scathe is here and it dives into more of the enemies and magic we will have in Scathe
If you wanted to see more Scathe, then you are going to get all of that right now. The next developer blog is here from Damage State and Kwalee to show off how some of the dark magic in the game is going to flow and how you are going to pick it up in this bullet-hell title out there. All of that and another enemy in Scathe that will try to end us all when the game launches on August 31st for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This is why we will need to be locked and loaded when we set out there to gun everything down in the world and this version of Hell.
As you can see below, we have the Mage enemy from Scathe out there in full-force and it looks like they will be the source of our first bits of dark magic in the game. Something that will give us various different spells to use that will help heal us as we run through it all while using others to explode enemies en masse out there. We might even be able to freeze them all in place, then crush them all in a bloody mess within Scathe too. Have a look and see how visceral this is going to look and feel in just over a month now.
Scathe — Devlog #2: Crush Your Foes With Dark Magic
What could be more magical than crushing your foes with a single clench of your fist? 💀
In their second devlog, Chris from Damage State gives an overview of a new mechanic in Scathe known as Dark Magic. Heal your broken body, freeze your enemies in time, and crush them to a bloody pulp using the ancient spells of the formidable Dark Mages.
Scathe is an adrenaline-fueled, classic FPS with big guns and even bigger demons. You play as Scathe, Enforcer of the legions of Hell, forged from the earth by the Divine Creator themself. And you, like your fallen kin before you, must prove your worth by navigating a deviously crafted maze, entangled with demonic evil at every twist and turn. So, grab your Hellhammer, lock’n’load, and get ready to unleash your almighty fury!
Key Features:
- Escape The Maze — Your task is simple; collect the three Hellstones and get to the center of the maze. Choose your own path by navigating expertly handcrafted zones - each filled with danger around every corner. Collect runes the need to progress, and smite all that stand in your way.
- Bullet Hell — Scathe is not your ordinary FPS… Get ready for bullet-hell where you must dodge countless waves of deadly projectiles. By utilizing Scathe’s incredible speed, you can dash through attacks, leaving you unharmed. Keeping on the move is the key to survival.
- Lock’N’Load — Rip through your enemies with Scathe’s insanely powerful arsenal of weapons, each equipped with a devastating secondary fire. Spew hellfire with the Hot Hatch or slice through endless evil with the buzz saw launcher, Bow Blade.
- Drop In/Drop Out Online Multiplayer — Scathe will support full cross-play online multiplayer where players can drop-in and drop-out at any time. Already lost deep within the labyrinth? Call upon up to three friends to join the fight. Choose your kin wisely, because in Scathe, everyone shares the same pool of lives.
Are you fully pumped up for Scathe to launch out there or do you need more to look at before you are completely sold? Do you think we will have to take down a different Dark Mage for each spell or will it just be one and we upgrade along the way? How well do you think we will get to mix up all of the spells to take them all down? Tell us all down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish. More for Scathe is on the way, so be sure to keep checking back in for all of that and everything else we have coming too.
