The Alters Will Have Us All Asking ‘What If?’ To Survive The Game

The Alters

The Alters was announced and will walk us down various life paths to create each of The Alters to help us survive on a planet

Multiverses and varying timelines have seemed to be all the rage in our media as of late, and now we get to see another title announced with The Alters. A new title coming out of 11 Bit Studios for the PC that will have us asking the "what if" question in various ways to help survive the planet the game will place us on. This will most likely be somewhat in the core gameplay for The Alters too, as each creation will need to play some part in the overall game for us to make it through. That sounds like it will be the true core of it all, but there could be much more laying in wait if the cinematic trailer for the game is anything to go on.

As it all goes, The Alters will place us all on a different planet that seems to be rather isolated. We will take on the role of Jan that has the ability to create alters of himself that will have varying personalities and skills that will be needed to make it through the game. Each of these will be shaped around a different life path that Jan could have gone down from the core personality. All seemingly around some form of major life choice that The Alters will grow from. It sounds like an interesting concept, but since we have little to look at in motion, we will have to take it all at that value for now. Have a look at the trailer we have to announce this title.

The Alters — Announcement

To survive on a lonely planet, Jan creates alternate versions of himself - The Alters. Each alter’s personality is shaped by Jan’s various life paths. The Alters begs a simple question surrounding life-changing moments and the decisions people make: What if…?

Does The Alters sound like too high of a concept to be a solid game or will that be part of the thing that makes it truly intriguing? How vastly different will each be or will they be mostly the same but with a different skill to help out with? Could we see some wildly different one out there with Jan also being the main antagonist of the story too? Tell us all of your thoughts and theories down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you wish. More for The Alters has to be on the way, and we will share all of it here once we have it. Just be sure to keep checking back in for all of that and everything else that we have going on.
