Resident Evil Village Will Offer Up A New PSVR2 Way To Play

Resident Evil

Resident Evil is getting more of the VR treatment with Resident Evil Village getting a PSVR2 update when the hardware is available

When Resident Evil Village first dropped on us all, there were many that were curious about the VR options we could be seeing in the game and how that could carry the fun of the last title's version over. Capcom has been dabbling in this space for a while now and even offered up a different title with PC VR options to get us all excited and out there again. Now, we have official word that Resident Evil Village will be seeing a whole new VR experience on the PS5 when the PSVR2 shows up in the real world. Get those fresh, clean pants ready to change into as the horror finds new levels and ways to haunt our minds.

Just like we saw in Resident Evil 7, we are going to get to play through the story here with Ethan using all of the new features that the PSVR2 will have to offer up to get us all truly immersed in. In addition to all of that, we will be able to easily block and perform other intuitive actions once we are in the VR space too. Not to mention be able to run around the world of Resident Evil Village holding two weapons if we so choose to do so. Given how terrifying the experience could be, I think I know quite a few gamers out there that will enjoy being able to use both weapons to defend themselves. Even if they need to worry about all of the ammo and other resources they should not be throwing away out of panic.

Resident Evil Village — PlayStation VR2 Announcement

During PlayStation’s State of Play broadcast, Capcom revealed Resident Evil Village will soon deliver an even more up close and personal experience by creeping onto PlayStation VR2.

The story mode for the award-winning eighth main entry in the Resident Evil series is in development for PlayStation VR2 on PlayStation 5. Ethan Winters’ terrifying tale will deepen the immersion by utilizing the new headset’s 4KD HDR display, eye tracking, 3D audio, and other advanced features. The journey through Castle Dimitrescu and the surrounding village is more intense than ever before when experienced in VR, drawing players into a hyper-realistic world that virtually feels tangible.

The experience will include support for PlayStation VR2 Sense technology and introduce new ways to interact with the world of Resident Evil Village. These controllers empower players to perform intuitive actions, such as raising their arms to guard against enemy attacks. The VR campaign also introduces other new gameplay elements, such as the ability for Ethan to dual wield weapons.

Did you expect to see this Resident Evil get the full PSVR2 treatment or did you think that was going to be something only in the future games? Do you think we will see this added in for the other remakes and versions from before or will it just be something we see moving forward and nothing more? Will you be going in with both guns flowing or will you be hoarding your resources as you always should be? Tell us all of your thoughts on this and more down in the comments and then feel free to discuss it all as you so wish. More for Resident Evil Village could be on the way, so keep a sharp eye out here for all of that and much, much more.
